This is quite common knowledge to those who have researched Bates but might be news to those that think he is just an astute businessman.

This episode brought with it many accusations of racism and sexism against our current chairman as well as a very low regard for his lack of manners and way of doing things.

Such was the level of civil unrest his presence caused there that the British government had to get involved.

A very interesting article Roz.

Just shows what you can find if you research thoroughly doesn't it?

David Conn take note eh?

Roz...Did you know you can get medical help for obsessions?

So says Jonty.

Perhaps you could ask him where he has ever raised this issue on these pages or the old 606, I don't recall this being mentioned before.

I am surprised that someone so vocal against Ken Bates as Jonty has not mentioned this episode before! Particularly as it was such common knowledge in his circles!

No obsession here. I just pass current info on as I find it. The article in full is in the latest TSB.

In other news, there's a dinner being held for the Champions of 1991/92 tonight. Anyone going?

And Gary 'Snake' Edwards has the play of his book showing around Yorks at the moment. Only a tenner. You can pay on the door. I was bought a ticket for last Weds at the Leeds Playhouse but couldn't make it. Anyone go to that? Very funny by all accounts.

Tony Dorigo couldn't make it as he has TV commitments, would have gone if he'd been there!

I've read about this previously. And it was discussed
on here. Briefly. Bates aside, it just shows that corruption is rife at the top, bottom and middle of our dear old global society. Sad really what a rectangular piece of paper can drive people to do in the name of greed.

Tony Dorigo: now there's a legend if ever there was one.

Hes even got a football team named after him - Dinamo Dorigo!

lufc_batty_david that is

I'm not disputing the story, I see the Walsall Sage has already read my earlier comment wrong, no change there, I personally had no knowledge of this story and I am simply asking if someone can advise when it was discussed on here, I would like to read the comments from that earlier time. Simply to save going over the same subject if it has already been discussed.

Eric, I'm not disputing you disputing the story either.
Just saying I have read the story. Earlier this year.
And I do remember it being discussed on here. When?
Couldn't tell you. I don't have the energy to dig through these pages to find it.

Whatever Eric wrote hes probably just mischief making again batty.

Bates escapades in angeda and his rip off of Irish investors with his Irish trust bank etc are well known episodes in his life.

Leopards tend not to change their spots.

lufc, I'm not disputing you not disputing me disputing the story!

One of the regular contributors will remember it. Particularly as it was such common knowledge.

Perhaps my mischief making pales into insignificance where the master is concerned.

Hope this buffoon and the WS don't sidetrack your interesting thread with their spite Roz.

Its the mark of a true n o b that they can annoy me even when I am not taking part in the debate.

I suppose that will teach me to read these pages when I am not signed in, filter is working again now

and thanks for posting this Roz, I was not aware and it adds... erm, let me check with my legal advisors before I type the next bit - it adds some interesting insights into the alleged background of man currently in charge at Leeds.

2020 makes you wonder if Eric inspired ja606 to create the filter functionality to make life better for the rest of us.

Only a numpty like Jonty would join an opinion forum then utilise a filter so as not to read the opinions on that forum......You couldn't make it up ! .....MOT with proper fans who support.

Just don't forget to sign in WW, I did - and regretted it

And original, its all a matter of personal opinion, but as "a numpty like Jonty" I have no problem with people who disagree with me, but I do have a problem with a persistent sneering tone, adopted against others who are expressing their views, It annoys me - and as I don't have that many years ahead of me on this planet, I just prefer to get the good from this forum (and there's still plenty, albeit I miss the inter-club banter of the old 606) and just filter out stuff that annoys me, I agree it would be daft to filter a lot of people, but if filtering one helps my enjoyment, filter him I will

original koppite

Well I have to say I would normally agree with you, but on this occasion I agree with Jonty. I have now filtered him and the sidekick WW Gyokko Ryu. I think the pair of them deserve their silence on my page, neither contribute to discussions! Spite and bile is now off the agenda.

Roz has posted an interesting thread and personally I am keen to see whether it was debated before (the buffoon from Croxley Green has stated it was common knowledge) I'll wait for a grown up to post where and when it was.

I don't think the article shows him in a light that is anything different to what most thought of Ken Bates as a person, but it is something that I had not read before.

MOT.

ps I'll happily be regarded as a numpty on this occasion.

looking at the scores today, quite a few draws among the playoff contenders (Derby winning 3-0 though). I suppose it could be worse

2020...You've probably got as long as me and I wouldn't filter anyone,,, even MeMe, I rarely respond to him but wouldn't deny him the right of free speech even though he does abuse it.
