well nothing new and wake up call from pak cricket , im glad that pakistanis r caught and getting punished, better late than never

they deserve whatever time they get. Asif has had a few lucky escapes in his recent past.

Now I am just waiting for Matt Le Tissier to get a 5am wake up call from pc plod

Looks like a jail sentance coming for Butt who has been found guilty of corruption. Asif has not been found guilty of corruption but conspired to cheat.

posted on 1/11/11

kash, they have been sent back to deliberate further on the corruption charge.

Butty will do time for this. This wouldn't have gone to court otherwise.

Conspire to cheat charge. Can you really cheat if you bowl a no ball? If they can't find any money then Asif will get away with the corruption charge.

Agreed about Matt Le Tiss but that double standards for you.

It will be interesting to see if the ICC increase the ban on Butt to life. If Asif is found not guilty of conspiracy his ban probably wont be affected.

roy kean admitted he deliberately set out to hurt alf inge haaland but nothing happened to him.

Defo should be life for Butt.

butt's ban is probably long enough at 7 years.

Can we now expect Kolo Toure and Dwain Chambers in the dock?

There's no evidence against le tissier except in his book. If he say's it's not true, I just put it in to help book sales, nothing can happen.

1-6 i think taking illegal money is more serious than drugs cheats and thugs like Keane.

You're kidding right

He'll never play again, even for a school team, what the PCB make of it is irrelevant.

true kashy but they still cheated.

ban them all i say!

Utd - it went to court because corruption is a criminal offense. The cheating part was an interpretation, seems the cheating part has been interpreted as the cheating/defrauding of the paying public.

just waiting for the sentences now.

kamran akmal will never set foot inside england again if he can help it

I still don't get this conspire to cheat charge. What does that mean for diving footballers, play acting to send off an opponent or the bloodgate affair in Rugby.

posted on 1/11/11

this should be opening the floodgates for many more sportsmen to be standing in the dock.

it won't though

kash, I just told you

The Courts determined that those being 'cheated' were the paying the public, not the other cricket side. Thus, it was treated in the same way as if a company or individual cheated you out of your money. Not so hard to understand

======================
Put on your reading glasses, I said the ICC not the PCB.

So your saying the paying public is not cheated when Howard Webb takes over a Man Utd game?

posted on 1/11/11

kash - provide evidence of Webb intentionally cheating the public and being corrupt

Hope, and I said its unimportant what the ICB or PCB think or want to do. If he gets time, its over.

the matt le tissier thing could easily be investigated (he even admitted it on telly as well as in print).
