Things like this put football into perspective in terms of how much it actually means in life. Obviously Billy isnt a fan favorite at Wednesday but Im sure that everyone at Sheffield Wednesday will join me in sending him and his loved ones our deepest condolences.

We hope to see him on the field soon, hes a fantastic player

What happened?

Horrible news, and brilliant mental strength from Billy to play tonight.

Hope Doncaster win for him.

What a gutsy man, total respect to my favourite player, emphasises how much playing football means to some players, Carlos tevez hang your head in shame. RTID

Just heard about Sharp playing last night.

Things like this are more important than club allegiances and so from a Leeds fan I would like to offer my best wishes to the Sharp family and Doncaster as a supportive club around them.

100% agree with the person who said how events like this really put football into perspective. Even though we all support different teams we're all human and these things are bigger than football.

Very sad news and huge respect for finding the strength to play last night. Deepest sympathy for him and his family
