This is disgraceful Bigdonnybob. Especially as the goings on at Chelsea are very much in the news. There should not be a different rule for one. If a player on the pitch can be investigated for racial abuse, ANYONE in the ground should be.
I shall call my contact and ask him to make a report. Do you know which box it was, if so can you post on here ?

Shop em to the Police!! vile specimens of humans.....
Hey Bob
I've called my contact who was out. I have e mailed him and asked him to see what can be done. I will follow up with another phone call later today.
That's a good idea to call the local paper and get them involved.
It would be good to post on here whatever box number it was.
If you can do that Bob it would take one phone call to find out who had the box.
Name em and shame em.
BDB,
Name and shame.
I hope its not one of our dwindling directors but there again no one should be allowed to get away with it.
There should always be a right of reply perhaps if the local press get involved they can give them the chance to try and justify what they said?
I would love to hear them try.
It's a criminal offence whoever said it, and first port of call should be a report to the police. Sounds as though the perpetrator can easily be identified so action should be taken.

Subject: RE: racial abuse !!!!
Dear Mr. -----------------,
I am in receipt of your e-mail, and I am sorry that it has been necessary for you to inform the club of this incident.
Doncaster Rovers Football Club is totally committed to eradicating abusive language and any form of aggressive behaviour from within the stadium. We fully support the Football League’s national campaigns which focus upon attracting youngsters and families to matches (‘Enjoy the Match’ campaign), and also the ‘One Game One Community – Kick It Out’ campaign which constantly drives the message that there is no place for racism within the game (or in any other walk of life). If you were at the recent match against Coventry City at the Keepmoat Stadium you will have noted the club’s focus upon this particular message.
I am extremely concerned to hear of the incident from within the crowd to which you refer, and I am pleased that one of our supporters took the step of reporting the matter to one of the Keepmoat stewards. Action was then taken by the stewarding team in order to control the situation, as you have indicated in your e-mail. Whilst this action was visible to you and others seated around you, you will be unaware that the matter was also being attended to from ‘behind the scenes’ within the hospitality boxes area. I have looked into this matter this morning and discussed it with the relevant members of the club’s Commercial Team, and I can assure you that as soon as the information about the incident was referred to our Commercial Team, action was taken from within to curb the behaviour to which you have referred.
Such incidents are rare, thankfully, and will always be handled in an appropriate manner jointly by the stadium Safety Officer’s Team and the club’s officials. A specialist stewarding team operates within the Hospitality Boxes and Restaurant area, and the members of this team are ‘well-versed’ in dealing with any incident in the appropriate manner (as has happened in this case). This means that the stewards who operate within the other seating areas of the stadium are not withdrawn from their posts amongst the crowd, and this is probably the message which some stewards were trying to explain in their reference to ‘jurisdiction’.
The club actively encourages supporters to report any behavioural concern to the stewards. If it is ever necessary to do so, stewards will act accordingly under the direction of the Stadium Safety Officer and senior members of his team. I am confident that the recording of this whole incident will be detailed in the Safety Officer’s log for last night’s game, and I can assure you that we will continue to work as a team to minimize any crowd activity which causes distress for other spectators within the stadium.
Once again, on behalf of the club, I am sorry that you were subjected to such an unpleasant incident, but I thank you for handling the matter in the appropriate way and allowing the correct authorities to deal with the situation.
Yours sincerely,
Charles
Good to know bigdonnybob. Are you satisfied or does it sound like a whitewash job ?

But what are they going to do to the people concerned? Bet I know the answer from a similar experience we had 2 seasons ago in Family Stand, the stewards on that day also did nothing and I got a letter basically telling me what Charles Swallow sent. We know him yankee do we not. Oh yes, when the stewards did nowt, we then spoke to the offenders. THEY NEVER CAME BACK. Pity it has to be this way
The perpetrators need bringing to justice and given a similar sentence to the one given to the 'Facebook' duo who were charged with inciting a riot as this was just as, if not more serious.
NY,
Sounds like a whitewash to me and it would look bad if it were to get in to the Sun, if you know what I mean?
You have that contact Alex.
NY,
I wouldn't hesitate to use it but:-
The first port of call is to the club
No satisfaction then on to:-
The Football League,
No satisfaction then on to:-
The Police
No satisfaction then on to
The press.
Final outcome is that the club end up with egg on its face and I am sure they dont want that.
If it is a cover up and I am not saying it is, could it be friends of a member of the board?
If Bob feels he has got no satisfaction he should let me know and I will have a word with my neighbour and see what the press can do! I am sure they would love a story like this.
Alex, I am, personally, not prepared to take the matter much further, but my mate, who was actually the person that remonstrated and was threatened by the 'yob', is, and if you would forward an email address to bobbylad@instantemail.t-mobile.co.uk . I will forward his details to you. I think you can appreciate that i don't want to publish personal details on here for obvious reasons. He has rung me this morning to say that he was not happy with the response from the club and that he was contemplating how he could take it further. He has also emailed the club to say that he didn't feel that he had got a satisfactory response to his complaint. Maybe a dialogue with your "contact" is the means that this could stir things into a more positive reaction from the club. Apart from anything, I know its a bit cynical, but any publicity is good publicity, and publicity puts bums on seats, which is what we all want ultimately. "Bums on seats", and here's me wanting some fans banning from the ground, maybe that seems like double standards from me, but I want "proper" fans, not yobs.

Hope you get a positive result here. Racism is born out of ingorance and intolerance and has no place in the modern world
Hi Bob,
If you google extra-time and communicate through Spike who also contributes on JA606. We will then be able to exchange details safely.
Can we work on this one Spike?
OK,
I have just read the full content of the email, my temper got the better of me. I will be intouch.
No problem alexmyhero. We've got private chat as well as private messaging on the site. Give me a shout on Extra Time when you're ready.

Bob,
There are 3 of us on the case right now and thanks to NY some interesting information. Speak to you later.
Talked to Bobs mate, I fully support his views and any action that follows. So Donny get it sorted or you could face some bad publicity.
In the light of all the bad publicity going John Terry's way i would be very suprised if the club allowed this to hit the press.
It really would be straightforward to identify the boxholder that evening and ask them/him/her to co-operate in naming the guilty party.
A banning order could be placed on the person who did the abusing or on the box holder if he chose not to help with an identity.
Stamp it out now Rovers, dont let it get worse.
Hound, Its a pity Bally wasn't there I think it may well have been sorted on the night,a banning order wouldn't come in to it!
