What the crocodile hat, is T K o T going on about?

Filtering is a double-edged sword. Those filtered can't comment on your articles, but you can't see anything they write or any of their articles, allowing them to poke fun at you and your petty ways without you being aware. If you can't take a bit of harmless banter, go on a site for your team only.

Where are you drawing the line frank?, i know i got filtered by a lot of liverpool fans for just disagreeing with them, it was as though all they wanted to hear was how well they were doing under kenny and if you had the temerity to challenge this notion then that was you, filtered.

SuperbFrank,

Just one comment: Why join up to a multi-team football forum, if you only want to debate with Chelsea fans about Chelsea.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

If you read my comment above you'll see that I'm more than happy to chat with opposition fans.

I'm just trying to get rid of the wums who come on to the Chelsea board with bad intentions.

I think the filter option should only be used for abusive posters (I haven't seen any so far) or spam. Gets a bit boring without some wumming.

Didi Hamann? He did doe didn't he doe? (U5172)

That is quite a list.

I am not on it which is good, however i don't go on the liverpool board that much.

How do you remember all the people you have filtered or can you access your filtered list on your profile?

SuperbFrank,

As Izzy says above though, by filtering so many people, you kind of restrict your own access & scope to debate.

It would almost be like reading a book with a missing page, every 2 pages. None of the debates will look like they run properly.

Then again, its your call....

LOL at Didi's list He's filtered about 10 of his own and has filtered WengersNearlyMen on 3 different accounts

Chelsea fans, the new Liverpool fans.

Now you know how the Liverpool fans on this board have felt since the summer

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Well if it´s worked well for you guys then I don´t see why we shouldn´t use it on the Chelsea board.

The wums have been getting totally out of hand over the last week and action needs to be taken.

----------------------

I've not filtred a single person. I know some Liverpool fans have filtered people but this site wouldn't be any fun if we couldn't see all the posts, good or bad.

We got wummed to high heaven over the summer, but
they'll get bored and move on.

I'm drawing the line at wums.

But I'll leave it to the discretion of each individual as to who they choose to filter.

If we get rid of the wums then we won't see nearly every single good footballing article on this board sabotagued by wums who's sole interest is to disrupt and ruin any good article.

I think that the majority of Chelsea fans are sick of these wums and now is the time to act.

The wums have to go.

It's just on your profile, sometimes it shocks me how long it's become but even given it's length there are very few articles where the comments will come up:

Filtered
Filtered
Filtered etc.

You'd be hard pushed to name many people on that list who aren't self-confessed WUMs and annoying WUMs at that.

Didi was the one at school, sat in the corner whipsering to his imaginary friends, he'd filtered all his real friends.

What a burk

Not really mate. I'm only filtering wums and I think I've filtered about 10 so far. That's not too many.

Either way I have no interest in seeing what wums are writing.

Doesn't interest me in the slightest and I won't miss having to read any of their drivel.

I'm here to read intelligent and interesting articles and posts by people who are interested in talking about football.

I have no desire to talk to people who's sole intention is to wind people up and look for an argument.

The biggest plus I have found is that if you ever want to do a serious article (admittedly most of mine are borderline WUM nonsense), then having those users filtered stops it from descending into a pathetic "My dong's bigger than yours contest"

I've got a few Liverpool posters on there as well as all they want to do is argue with rival fans.

That's fine, but I've got no interest in seeing it unless they can actually take a joke which unfortuantely most of them can't.

“I've not filtred a single person. I know some Liverpool fans have filtered people but this site wouldn't be any fun if we couldn't see all the posts, good or bad.”

The thing is you don’t need to filter others yourself, if you comment on an article by Didi Hamann for instance, then you are joining a filtered debate as none of the many he has filtered can comment on it. If you think that is good or bad is your own view.

posted on 2/11/11

SuperbFrank,

As long as you dont define a WUM as someone who has an opposing opinion to yours, whatever the debate & however strongly you feel about it, then you might be okay.

Other than that, you can ignore them or just delete their posts.

I always stick to the latter, if i'm honest.

================================

Or at worst, you can do what T K o T does after he's filtered someone, which is log out, read the comments, log back in & post a reply answering the person you filtered.

And the point of filtering them in the first place waaaaaaaaaaaaaas...

Of course there's a fine line but that's up to the discretion of the individual poster.

Just because someone disagrees with your point it doesn't mean that they are a wum.

A wum is someone who has come onto your board with an agenda to disrupt and wind people up.

They're very easy to spot.

Obviously people should be careful as to who they filter but take into account that you can always unfilter someone with a click of a button if you feel that you harshly filtered them.
