The All Blacks are by far the best team. They were poor in the final, and still beat the French in what was easily their best performance of the tournament. Now I'm not saying they're unbeatable, but if they are on form they are a VERY tough team to break down.

YES!

Just look at their record. There is no team in the world that could 'expect' to win in NZ and none outside of SA and AUS that could 'expect' to beat the AB's at home even. There is no team in the world more on top of their game than the AB's.

"Are ABs really the best?"

I think the question is idiotic.

Surly there is some news in the rugby world worth talking about other then are the AB's really the best in the world. I mean C'MON

And if france had won the bloody game there would be other idiotic questions about those lot.

For over a hundred years the AB have given everything they have to this sport. They have invented how the modern game is played. every-time an evolution in this game has occurred it started in NZ. are they really the best???? NO they are the greatest team ever to grace a rugby field and we can only dream of playing total rugby as they do. Their country as a whole have given more to rugby then all the tier 1 nations combined.

Christ on a bike that was a idiotic question

Questions, whether we are aware of it or not, are invariably the keys to all knowledge and as such should always be treated with a certain degree of respect!

Back to the question. I feel the ABs ARE currently the best team in the World. However, unlike many other former great AB teams, this current crop appear far from unbeatable. In the final against an average French side, the body language, not just the performance, hinted at a certain rarely seen vulnerability.

"Everytime an evolution in this game has occurred it started in NZ" >>>>>>>>>> Dream on Kiwi psychophant! Did you know that well over half the white people in NZ have Ulster-Scots blood. If you are who I think you are, that should temper your Kiwi enthusiasm somewhat -- Am I on the right track? Eh. At least you should know, if nothing else, that the "rolling maul" for a start was first developed far from NZ shores!

Hint -- If you find the question so "idiotic" and feel that there must be something else in the rugby World, "worth talking about", why dont you write an article on here about it yourself and get rid of all that latent anger! I mean C'MON

Mate. WTF was that? this is a question read above....

That was strange..... Im fully Irish. But i love this game and it would simply not be where it is or how it is without the AB's

They deserve their WC victory.

To be fair to you (and its not easy) of course they are not unbeatable. But that is not a reflection on them. Its a reflection on how competitive we all have become. I mean C'Mon man grow up

Ah yes, so I was right. The name flashed up in the old memory cells.

Irish is it? Well SHAME on you for not knowing that it was ourselves, the Irish, who invented the "Rolling Maul" along with the "Garryowen" and a few other things which you so casually attribute to the NZers! Bit of a S&M merchant, are we?

"WTF was that?" >>>>>>>>>> Explaining the obvious does not usually tend to give me much satisfaction, so Im leaving you to work it out all on your ownsome.

See ya around.

Look Shannon... go in the kitchen an make me a sandwich and stop talking out of ur back side. good girl

What is it you want? to make a statement so absurd and then have people agree with you?
SO if no agreement is received you go on a little hissy fit and the very best you can do is bring in to question the nationality of someone who replies.
Shame on me??? ohhh please someone give this guy a lolly

The All Blacks have been the best and most consistent side for the past decade without doubt. They were the best side in the World Cup 2011, and were without doubt deserved winners. End of!

In my opinion the All Blacks DID CHOKE in the final, and still managed to win it against a French side who brought their best performance to the final.

Ye hook, that's the way most people see it. And we should not forget the AB's played excellent rugby throughout the competition where France limped in to the Final off the back of 2 losses in the group and less then impressive performances in the knock-out stages.

Its fair to ask the question if not the AB's then who?

The only person I see having a hissy fit round here is you.

Im not questioning anyone's nationality simply saying that as an Irishman you should be aware that tactics like the Rolling Maul and the Garryowen first became popularised in Ireland.

"talking out of ur backside" >>>>>>>>>> You're the one who said that every single development in the game of rugby came out of NZ! What a joke!

As for the "sandwich", get it yourself, you need the exercise!

As a New Zealander I would say yes the All Blacks are the best team in the world. That's just my unbiased opinion of course.

I see Ireland have arranged a 3 match tour of NZ next year. So we will be able to see the 3rd or 4th ranked North Hemi team minus stars like O'Driscoll, against the World Champion ABs. Should be interesting!
