yeah it'll be a good move for him and i hope he has better success there as he's an honest and hard working lad just played out of position that often (as he's a centre back by trade i believe) that it affected his performance perhaps at times. thanks for your hard work tommy

Wish him all the best and hope this move (if it goes a head) jump starts his career, and gets him motoring again. Like you say trueblue it all got a bit stale for him at Hillsborough.

He was a centre half as a kid but it's not unknown for a player to change position once he gets into the first team. He's played over 200 games for Wednesday & about 3 of them have been at centre back.

If this happens then I wish Tommy all the best, a true Wednesday lad who can never be knocked for his enthusiasm and work rate, I'll never forget his stunner against Plymouth and his revving up of us away fans when we'd pulled the blunts back to 3-2 at their gaff!

Good luck Tommy, I think it's probably a good time in his career to move on.

Top player. We should be keeping him

We should maybe go for a swap deal. Spurr for O'Driscoll.

is O'Driscoll a pacey winger

He's quicker than Megson and Teale.

Not if he runs as fast as he talks

There isn't a link between pace and your brain trueblue, surely JJ's taught us that!

im not too sure we should be letting him go, granted we have conceded a number of goals down our left but is that just down to tommy spurr,he gets so far forward at times hes usually ahead of our left winger . if he doesnt get decent cover when he assists the attack then is that tommys fault or the way we work as a team.
i think if tommy perhaps got back to concentrating more on defense than attack we would see him realise the potential he showed some time back.

To be fair to Spurr, I think he's struggled a lot from having Teale and JJ in front of him, who are a more of a hinderance if/when they track back. Think it was all a bit to much pressure for the lad.

I like Tommy, but like others have said, I think he might have done his time with us. We're not a club who can afford to give passengers chance after chance.

It's pretty gutting the decline of Tommy and Beavers. Was only a few years ago we were apparently fending off Everton and Chelsea for them. Reckon we could sneak down to Stamford Bridge while they've no manager and switch the Chelsea scouting report for the one from 2008?

I was at Hillsborough a couple of years ago, and saw a 30 yard cracker from Tommy(against Fulham in the cup I think).

I know many of you have said he didn't have a good season last year, but I believe if you're in and out of the team, you wont.

We will take good care of him.

On a personal note, I think you've made a mistake with Heff. I didn't want him to leave us, but with our 1 up front policy, it never suited him. That was never your policy, so he would have scored many for you.

Good luck for this coming season, and I'll be cheering with you when you beat the Blades ( and I hope that it happens on Boxing Day).
