Agree that this is an important decision that is being made and they can't rush it. We are in capable hands for the time being it would seem but I think most of it is just frustration and annoyance that we have to endure names like Keane being linked in the meantime.
Good points and well said.
Unfortunately, we live in a 'fast food' society, where people want answers and decisions immediately.
If I remember rightly, the owners did say they would not make any comment at all on a new manager until they were appointed.
There is certainly a chance that, behind the scenes, a deal with a prospective manager is very close.
If it will take a little longer, I would prefer we stick with Rudkin and Stowell for the Leeds game, and utilise the internationl break to make sure we are selecting the best option. You never know, a little more time and persuasion may tempt somebody we may not have otherwise been able to attract.
Cannot agree, old fox. I do regard this as a wretched and ridiculous shambles, because it was wholly unnecessary. But if our owners were intending to take such a brave and remarkable step, they should have had the nous to do some thinking in advance about the succession, disrespectful or not.
If they now pull an absolute star out of the hat I will be delighted and astonished. But they've done that once already, so I fear instead that we will end up with one of the has-beens, never-were's and who-knows, whose names are presently being bandied around by the gentlemen of the press.
It is very depressing to be back in this sort of territory.
Old i am an old fox and often accused of having Blue tinted glasses.
But its niave to think that you have to sack someone before you talk to other peoples people or have targets in place.
If they get it right i will be the happiest fox and will apologise but i have the right to be concerned don't i?
Slight tongue in cheek comment on one point above -
"After all they know that while they are going thorough the process the team is in good hands, with Rudkin and Stowell, as results have shown so far."
The results so far with Rudkin and Stowell are an average of 1.5 points per game and two points off the playoff spots.
Sven's results this season were 1.46 points per game and - er - two points off the playoff spots when he got sacked.
Does this mean Rudkin and Stowell will be sacked if we don't beat Leeds on Sunday?
Personally I'd prefer the owners to take their time and get it right - after Sunday there is a two week break so no need to panic yet. None of the current short list look particularly inspiring but who knows - perhaps we'll get another pleasant surprise.
