Jermaine Pennant can fluck off!!
He's only saying what he's saying because he knows he will never get a call up from England.
If he was so proud of his Irish roots then why not declare when he was playing for Arsenal or was signed for Liverpool?
You could say the same about the likes of Aldridge and Ray Houghton who were in their mid 20's before they got capped for Ireland.
I'm not naive enough to believe that English players declare for us because a love of the "old country". Some of them are doing it to further their careers .
And good luck to them as long as they gave their all for us when they put on the Green jersey
I think Aldridge and Houghton were different. Both were still playing for Oxford when they made their international debuts (correct me if I am wrong) and both made big money moves quite late in their careers (over 25 years old).
Both were playing for Oxford Utd (then in the Old First Divison) at the time they earned their first Ireland caps.
The FAI scouts went along to see Aldridge play for Oxford and found out that Houghton was also elligible to play for us and the rest is History
Didnt Pennant initially declare for the ROI some time ago and then change his mind? (Correct me if Im wrong.) Think hes definitely worth having if you can get him and his heart is in it.
See Robbie Keane is playing for the Galaxy again. Great little player. Always gives 100%. Wonder will he be fit enough for the play off and if so, will Trapp pick him?
If he's fit, he'll play.
Hasn't played well in the last few games but if ever theres a player for the big occasion, its Keano
