i accept your views, and i agree with the whole, "want it now" philosophy, but thats exactly what got rafa sacked after 1 bad year in 6, that when all was said and done, wasnt even that bad!!!!

i just dont see the tactical nous from kenny that is needed, a great man motivater, but i cant help but feel he will step down at some point soon, i think hes gonna struggle to bring in top players too, rafa's name is more of a draw than kenny

I agree on Rafa, I was a fan and we picked the wrong time to get rid of him. He had one poor season ffs.

I wonder how he would have spend the money that FSG provided?

We also have Commolli involved and moneyball which i'm not convinced about. But on the bright side we are in a much more solid position than we were last season.

Downing is played to supply crosses to Carroll? It's not working. Let's try Bellamy and Maxi and flood the middle.

btw - where is the leadership on the pitch? who will urge the players on? We ARE missing Gerrard.

when you look at some of the players he tried to buy.. and got refused.. i think he would have spent well, but that's all ifs and buts and we didn't have champs league so would never attract huge players!,

however i don't think commolli and rafa would have had a problem working together, and moneyball suits rafa down to the ground, if you look at all of his best buys its about spending big to plug a gap in the team, on young players with resale value i.e. when he bought torres masch, alonso, arbeloa, bellamy (funded torres) sissoko, garcia (again funded torres move i believe)

and comolli is a glorified scout, time and time again, Kenny and Damian have both said that kenny identifies the position he wants, damien scouts and looks at the figures and statistics and presents kenny with options, and he then points out who he wants. Rafa was a huge fan of statistics anyway, its how he made his purchases, his whole philosophy would fit in with FSG.. including his love and work for the youth academy (without which we would not have even been a good investment opportunity!

Rafa is still a great manager in my opinion, but he was a control freak and he might find it difficult to work in the current set up, but I would have him back if Kenny couldn't carry us forward.
