This is in the bag for South Africa, 131 needed with 9 wickets in hand.

looking like silkybeard from yesterday was spot on:

"Hussey's drop (Amla) will turn out to be the turning point of the game"

Really has turned out to be an amazing game this test. I think i read somewhere someone saying it's not a great advert for test cricket, i think it's a perfect advert for the game, been a belter

agreed Googly - I think it perfectly demonstrates why they are called "tests". It is too easy to underestimate just how tough it can be out in the middle and how momentary lapses can be punished. Has there ever been such two contrasting days ever in test cricket?

Amla goes, too little too late for Aus.
Yeah has been a great test. If you watched a test for the first time and this was it, i'd imagine you;d be hooked pretty quickly, better than 600 plays 600 for a draw. I think a really good score in tests should be about 350, that score sets the game up perfectly. As a friend said to me last night, only test cricket can produce days like that

With the likes of the 20/20 crap taking priority...$$$$$ low scores like this will be a familiar thing in the future because no-one will learn how to play proper test cricket..

I like Clarke's after match comments - non of the usual "taking the positives" - a good direct honest appraisal - looking forward to seeing him in action in the months to come...

606veteran,
With such a pathetic display from his batting order & 2nd innings bowling there really wasn't much positive to take out of this match from an OZ perspective so Clarke could hardly say much else other then negative.....but I agree he talks well, he was brought up knowing what side the knife & fork should be on.
