I've had enough false starts in the past when it comes to takeovers so I'm not doing cartwheels yet.

These people are real Cryer does know who they are but they asked not to be named. I'm guessing unlike Syed they would also be legitimate.

The major 2 questions are would venkys sell? The second question being will they make an official bid...

If venkys turned these people down there should be rioting in the streets

Hope it's true but are venkys willing to sell

posted on 12/11/11

It's a strange one!

Someone needs to ask Venkys how it's impacted on their global brand, ie did the shocking ad sell any more chicken.

If not, they need to point out that dropping a league would pretty much destroy the brand and make the club unsellable within 2 to 3 years.

Next, if they want to keep us up they need a new manager and £10m in January. Judging by their actions thus far and being unable to get an overdraft I'd suggest neither is possible.

Here's the trick bit though, to oust them you'd really have to match what they paid or offer a quick profit. These people may have the cash, but why didn't they buy us in the first instance?

Apparently the group is Qatar Petroleum

Please please be true, they could not do any worse and even at 25 million the chicken men would still make money.
God how many company's have ever performed so badly and still made a profit if this were to be true.

Nixon has a story relating to takeovers though he called this "very amusing" which suggests his story is about a different group...apparently more than 1 interested.

posted on 12/11/11

Nixon thats sunday mirror then? I think it will be same people that's why A Cryer printed first

posted on 12/11/11

Well his tone about the LT story did not come across as complimentary so I'm assuming he disagrees with it.

I guess Cryer must believe Nixon has the same story though. Cryer wouldn't have broken this story on his own Glen Mullan thinks now its all out in the open deal could be at risk.

posted on 12/11/11

But we don't know 100% that it is Qater petroleum so how can it be at risk

posted on 12/11/11

Well there's definitely someone from Qatar interested that is a certainty.

I heard whispers about Kean and Venkys and thought that was a major reason for the protest. I did hear people talking on sites like BRFCS about takeovers and references to interest but I didn't know the protests had become partly influenced by takeover bidders. They certainly started off as a protest purely aimed at Kean but more and more info has spread to the main protesters every day.

Some of the stuff being discussed here...

good news IMO because it is healthy competition. hopefully it will remind that owners that they are in at the deep end and need to make a success of the club

posted on 13/11/11

Healthy competition?

They can't win the club by being better...

Nixon's story

Here's hoping that we look a more attractive option to these sheikhs. after all venkys balanced the books (selling jones for 17 mill and not spending silly money) with the summer tranfer dealings so in that respect I think we will be in a good position. if these new guys have a bit more money to throw at the club then happy days.

posted on 13/11/11

Well the protesters think Cryer's version is right and its Qatar Petroleum

posted on 13/11/11

Either way its win win if anything comes from it!

From the People link

"They have invested heavily in making Blackburn ‘India’s Premier League club’ and they do not want to lose face."

Get a decent manager then instead of staying with that bald headed baffoon !!

posted on 13/11/11

Should they not have invested heavily in the team and manager otherwise they'll be India's Championship Team.

Plus, they're India's nothing. We've been Blackburn for 135 years, sweet fa to do with India. It's things like this that give the BNP and EDL a membership!

The protests must stop against Kean (still think he is a bad manager ) and go after Venkys big time we have to show them we don't want them. This chance can't be wasted
Venkys out
