Very very interesting article. Thats what I love about Twitter it's always the truth. Straight from the horses mouth as it were.

Bit sad you trolled the current accounts of NI underage players to be honest on what should have been a night of celebration.

7 more I would have expected you tell the catchy named U11681 to get over himself ok>

Well as I said Mick the author of the article is merely quoting what he has seen on Twitter. Personally I believe Football managers should ban their players from using twitter especially the younger players. But it is always interesting to read their real opinions as opposed to what they are told to say

The author of the articles is only quoting what he has seen on twitter in fairness. Personally I believe Football managers should ban their players should ban their players from using Twitter. That said it always interesting to read their real views as opposed to what they are told to say!

Quite an interesting article really after the comments of Gerry Armstrong, the IFA's version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Child Catcher, just last week: "Can we not defer the boys making the decision until they are 20 or 21? Until they are old enough and understand what it is all about. I think at 16, 17 or 18, it is far too young. They are learning about life, about football and some of them still don't know what their identity is, so I would like to see it deferred and they can make their decision later on."

These lads seem pretty clear about their thoughts and feelings to me. Any of them who are good enough will no doubt play for the ROI and those aren't will hopefully at least be able to forge a half decent pro career on the back of playing for the north.

Can't understand why if people want one team in Ireland they think the best way to do that is to annoy a section of the island?

Strange ..

posted on 13/11/11

Nearly as strange as the IFA ailenating half of their potential support and losing players while they're at it you might say........

I agree, an absolute shambles..

Why do people have problems with this article. If anything its fairly interesting. Current NIreland internationals going on a public forum like Twitter and basically admitting they are actually fans of the Republic of Ireland team!!!
Its the Elephant in the room for the IFA !!!!!

Also anyone see the You-tube clip of NIreland player Niall mc Ginn after the ROI stuffed the North 5-0 in May and he admitted he was a ROI fan and his proudest moment was getting Robbie Keanes jersey after the match as a souvenier

posted on 14/11/11

What is it with the NIreland board. No one seems to actually discuss Football on here anymore!!!

When was the last article devoted to the playing side of the NIreland Football team.

Who do people want to see as your next manager , which players ignored by Worhtington are likely to be given a chance to prove themselves in the World Cup qualifiers etc...

Celtic and Neil lennon especially seem to be discussed more on the NIreland board than your actual international side!!

Sort it out you lads run the risk of becoming a laughing stock

Over to Shen, Earl and Mick. The only NIreland posters it seems who can actually start good articles about the state of NIreland Football Heres your chance to rescue your board.

Robbie (if that is you) , all your doing is trying to reel people in. A lot of people here can start football discussions but if you notice , its mostly the anti-NI brigade starting pathetic articles which are designed to annoy the hell out of the NI posters here. Nearly every article started by yourself mention or slag off NI every time. It is TIRESOME.

When you and your cronies stop this pathetic baiting , then the decent posters will appear. Your team have 1 foot in the Euros , be happy and dont you worry about the wee country to the North.

Sorry to inform you but the Northern Ireland Board and the IFA are both a laughing stock. The inability of the IFA to be as forward thinking as the Scottish and Welsh F A's and play a North of Ireland anthem. No one could say that either Scottish or Welsh FA's were revolutionary.

where is this North of Ireland you keep harping on about? And the NI board is laughing stock to who exactly on this little blip on the world wide web? Ahhh its a laughing stock to another blip on the world wide web , brilliant, how will we sleep at night!

After you little stereotyping of all England fans on the friendly match thread , and now your crying about a national anthem of a team and country that you obviously hate , ive came to a conclusion.

Your a pleb.

Alex come on now its not just the Anti- NI Brigade as you call them in fairness. What about all the articles started on your board about Celtic and Neil lennon !!!!

I'm actually serious with the points i made above.

What have Iceland got to do with this?

Robbie , the articles started about Lennon and Celtic normally originate from 1 person. We have had our discussion about Worthington , qualifiers , next manager etc before. To be honest , when your team is down and out , and as much as i hate to admit it , terrible, then its always gonna be quieter than normal.

Your board is buzzing and rightly so , a few of us Northerners have congratulated your team and as i have said before , i want them to do well (apart from against NI).

Just seems your sniping at every thread and while i know its just banter and the internet , its a wee bit harder to take when your team is doing so poorly lol.

Impartiality for example, harping on about NI playing GSTQ at Windsor. Why does he care , is he going to go to the matches if they stop doing that?? I dont think so. For the record , i wish they wouldnt play it and came up with another anthem but thats for another article.

All im saying is enjoy Tuesday nights match and the celebration that comes after it. Good luck in Poland/Ukraine and i hope you get a decent draw for the group stages!

That must have taken all of 1 second to think of that. John Bishop , Billy Connolly and other top comics must be quaking in their boots. When are you going to unleash your comical career onto the unexpecting public?

"Hello this is Rory McKeown speaking".

"Hey Rory, this is your Uncle Gerry. I am just calling to put an arm around you".

"You wan't to put your arm around my...what?" states the concerned and frightened youth player McKeown.

"I just want to put the love of Northern Ireland football into you", Gerry cries full of passion.

"I bet you do..." [clunk goes the phone]
