Zaphod: Do you by anu chance remember this guys name? Me and a few mates were playing against a so called "clan" the other day on MW3, They were loterally the worst team I've played against. We spanked them about 8 games in a row before they left. However during one of the lobbies one of them cam onto the mic and said "I've been letting my 8 year old son play up and until now, I'll play the next game and see how well you do". He ended up something like 4-16.

So we hammered him even more for it

They whole clan were called "The1" and it was one that they had paid for on COD Elite too!

My favourite thing on MW3 is my clan name and the reaction it gets from some people, chiefly Americans.

Being a Dundee United fan I use the fans nickname which is "ARAB". The amount of racist abuse I get for being a Muslim soandso is hilarious.

guys... quick query...

Yesterday i got told that when you prestige it resets all your weapons attachments challenges and weapon rank, but NOT your number of kills or number of headshots (different to mw2) I tried to find out if it's correct or not online last night but couldn't seem to find anything about it.... have any of you prestiged? if so, did you keep the kills/headshots?

(i only ask because the guy who told me isn't exactly reliable....)

It resets all atatchments however you get a "token" for prestiging which can be used ot unlock a certain weapon/equipment/perk for the rest of the game so whenever you prestige again, you'll have that weapon. If you have presitged on the other COD's you'll have mroe tokens.

Dont think it resets headshots/number of kills as i'm showing as 2500 with the UMP still.

yeah i know about the tokens, challenges etc, it's just on previous ones it has reset all your challenges, but according to what i was told yesterday on this one it resets everything except the number of kills/headshots with each weapon.... would be handy if it was true, but i want to do every challenge on the cm901 and L118a, so don't want to prestige until i've done them.... but if it doesn't reset then i can, as it's only kills/headshots i still need to do.

prestiged will be only once, as i am missing my mp7 and g36c

When i prestige i plan to use the unlock items thingy to keep the stuff i want, but it won't be guns. I plan on using a different set of weapons on each prestige. on this one it is the CM901 and the L118a... when i prestige i will pick 2/3 new ones to use and so on and so on. If i end up prestiging all the way i should have done most of the guns by the end.

Kills per weapon and headshot per weapon do get reset.

However, after prestiging the first time you get KPW and HPW as a prestige challenge that doesn't get wiped, along with the original Kills/Headshot challenge.

If you've already got say 1000 kills, that will go. However, you can then build up another 1000 kills, prestige again, and the prestige challenge will still show you have those kills/headshots, but in the original challenges will reset.

Not sure i've explained that in a way you'll understand but it makes sense to me!

so if i prestige when i have say 750 kills, it will go back to zero, the same as with mw2?

guess i won't be getting all the challenges then... i don't have even close to the patience to get 500 headshots before prestiging

posted on 6/12/11

Yeah it will, but like I said once you prestige then you can start building towards the challenges as the headshots etc will accumulate even if you prestige again.

posted on 6/12/11

yeah, but that will mean getting over the 1000kills again... and i don't plan on using these weapons any more after i prestige

posted on 6/12/11

Ahh ok, but then if you start again you get double XP basically on the first prestige for getting the kills from completing the challenges.

I'm basically ready to prestige again but haven't and don't intend to. I've also not touched the ACR at all during this prestige which is probably the best rifle.

I'm currently using the MK14 (I think it's called - the single fire rifle), although obviously it depends on the level as I might go with a SMG or Shotgun (Seatown).

it works the same as mw2 where you have a "prestige challenge" which accumulates and doesnt get reset. So you'll continue adding to your UMP kills and UMP headshots throughout until you get say 10,000 kills and you'll have comopleted that particular pretige challenge.

so thinking about it, i might as well sack doing the challenges at all till after i prestige, and just crack on with my fave setups to get to prestige as quick as possible

posted on 6/12/11

i prestiged pleased that i got the challenges, but will stay 1st prestige lvl 80

Hatem, that's exactly what I'm doing.

great minds think alike but i hate ranking up prefer having all the guns, perks, killstreaks etc

Your CM901 Attachments cheat has been taken away...

Some of the guns did need rebalancing. The Type-95 was too awesome at the start. And the FMG-9 Dual was better than any other gun in the game!

Hatem, that's what i did on warfare 2, but once you get to the stage where your xp aren't meaning anything then i start to get bored. guess i just like to be working towards something, even if it is something that is essentially meaningless

i managed to con some idiot american into getting me into a 10th prestige lobby on mw2 but i will be really busy with exams this year so wont have too much time to get to high levels on mw3

ivan noooooooo! the cm901 was amazing

posted on 7/12/11

can't believe they're worrying about rebalance guns and 'hit sounds' (whatever the hell that is) when the main thing that needs sorting is the pathetic lag compensation

all the guns aren't supposed to be equal, they are supposed to have pros and cons to each. the fire rate glitch with the cm901 obviously needed sorting, but the rest shouldn't even be considered until they make the game fair and properly playable. if i get to be host, i might as well leave straight away, cos it's pathetic.

FMG-9 akimbo are seriously overpowered. That and the Type 95 are two of the most popular guns amongst most average players which says something. I've been killed by by these two the most as well.

I agree they need to sort out lag compensation though. What really frustrates me is when your shooting somone but get nothing. No hitmarkers but its clear as crystal your shooting the player, hit detection was perfect in MW2, why did they change it. Saying that, I think its good they are balancing some of the weapons, particularly the ones mentioned earlier....and the annoying button clan tags, stupid kids taking advantage of it to write dirty words and stuff .

i've never had much of an issue with the type 95. a 3 shot burst weapon is supposed to be powerful; that's it's Pro - the 3 shot burst is it's Con. same with the fmg9 - at close range it's powerful and stops people quickly, but at more than 20 yards or so its so inaccurate that it's effectively useless.

I don't want to play a game where all the guns are effectively the same. i like them having big differences and pros and cons.

next thing they'll be speeding up the bolt time on the bolt action rifles cos kids moan the barrett is too quick
