reckon we'll get about £32m

Why put a minimum value on him at all? But having done so who would pay a penny more?

Will the real THudd stand up ??
And offer insurance on JPB being too low ??

Standard is a free paper issued to read and after can use to wipe the stink marks on seats in trains and buses.

posted on 16/6/11

Are you speaking from the experience of watching people do that after you get up out of the seat ??

posted on 16/6/11

I personally not interested in grabbing freebies issued on tube and train stations.. But I have seen people grabbing one from outside the station and read it until to the train and wipe the stink marks then through in the bin

Sorry, I no speako ESOL.

Sorry, I no speako ESOL

What do you mean?

Your manager said 'There are people being sold for £20m who are not fit to lace Luka's boots'.

According to your gibberish ' Levy put 45m on the spot for the proven (questionable) yet in form Modric'

So, he is worth 23 million (or less) than a person who lace his boots - that's HIMSELF. Can you see my logic?

Usual guff

i still cant believe the standard is a freebie.

has it changed much since it went free ?

I mean, if you expect a reply to :

"I personally not interested in grabbing freebies issued on tube and train stations.. But I have seen people grabbing one from outside the station and read it until to the train and wipe the stink marks then through in the bin"

Write it in proper English (I don't have time to translate gibberish) .

has he actually come out and said it though. or is it just more bollox from the papers.

the press in this country are a disgrace to be honest. we should all thoroughly look at ourselves as we continue to buy and fund their stupidness.

DDD :

Of course it is.

Just like the Sun put some rubbish like "Spurs stunned by 22m bid by Chelsea (which we predicted)" today.

The reality is this :

To align the cost of buying Modric, in this over-hyped over-inflated market, together with the form Darth Levy has on selling our class players, you are going to have to get much closer to 45m than 25 to seal the deal.

posted on 16/6/11

I thought Modric signed a 6 year contract??

It stoopid to start selling players, even at funny money, because you have to go buy equivalent players elsewhere. And they usually dont exist .... when it comes to Luka Modric.
Who would you buy ... if you were levy and sold Modric for 50 mil pounds.

Age and skill wise : Niko Marin looks a prospect.

Need decent strikers (preferrably younger than 27) . And at least one decent CB (similar age constraint) .

Many names touted on the striker front, but I'm not ITK regarding their ability. Who is actually any good bar Eto'o ??

Marin plays on the left though. I suppose he could be cultured enough to operate as a CM.

posted on 16/6/11

Marin is 22 too.
N yrs of confidence, cultivation etc could see him grow into such a role (IMHO) .

hasnt he and his agent committed his future to bremen?

we could probably have got him if we were 4th like we should have been if we didnt completely balls up the second half of last season. oh well.

posted on 16/6/11

1. Marin : yes he has. Just like Modric has to us (for now) .

2. If we had got top 4 again :

- we wouldn't by definition be needing to talk about every striker on Gods' earth

- I suspect we would be fending off interest from people wanting to come to be a part of a new adventure

I would like to think that Levy has a contingency plan and target in place just incase we do lose Modric.

Problem is who could we get that is as good as him that would come to us!

The current lack of activity in the transfer market combined with no football means there are plenty of column inches to fill and nothing to fill them with.

So, 2nd rate journalists latch onto any tiny scrap of a story and turn it into a world exclusive (whether true or not) to fill their newspapers.

They have to write about something, what we need is a flurry of transfer news then they will all forget about making up stories about Modric.
