Nice to see you on ja606 Mr Banjo.

To be honest, and you probably already know, I was happy to see the back of gingaringapiece.

VIlla have offered £2m compensation. What a result. Be nice seeing MotD next season with them on last virtually every week due to zero or single goal games. Just means I can go to bed 1 minute early

The only down side is that he will take a few players. I reckon Foster, Dann, maybe Johnson - and I have had information that Gardner may be going back there. You know as well as I do, even what appears very good info can turn out to be rubbish!

Happy shooting.

Not quite as grand but...

I'm content with the thought of beating vile next time we play them.

Unless McJudas has already been sacked by then.

Whether he is sacked or not its still a good thought...

Well thats the worry i think many players are more loyal to McLeish than the Club i hope some prove me wrong.

Say (and its only a guess) that Johnson was 50/50 wether he wanted to stay with us after Relegation (unless a big club come in and i dont mean Villa )

I now think with McLeish gone that would half again and so the player would be 25% certain to want to stay.

I think a lot of players would be uncertain, thats why we need to get a Manager and one with potential and who is respected so he can maybe persuade some to stay or be able to assess what we need so as not to panic buy.

The quicker we get a new manager the better.

McLeish can want our players, hey Wolves wanted Dann and Johnson but unless they pay what we want they are not going anywhere not this window.

Dann and Johnson do not get a massive wage that would cripple us and they are big assets who are easy to shift. Its Zigic and his £50K a week that we will not be able to offload easy.

We wanted Pavy, N'Zogbia we never got them because we would not pay the £28M they would have cost.

So why should we sell our players cheap.

I think McLeish will be a hypocrite with our players.

He said before that he values them high and was not happy at the thought our board would sell them if the right deal comes along.

so if ourboard/McLeish valued Dann and Johnson at over £20M the pair i am not waiting for McLeish to come in and try and get them for £15M or less.

I expect him to offer £6-7M for Johnson, £8-9M for Dann and about £7M for Foster.

All prices that had McLeish been Manager and had full say in who stays and goes, McLeish would have at the kind of offer he will now come in with.

Only thing in favour with Eck is i think he may have already tapped up them to want out and so we could face keeping unhappy players like Wigan faced with N'Zogbia.

So now comes a test of our players ethics do they accept and work hard for us if we reject offers, or do they do a N'Zogbia.

If McLeish gets the £40M from Downing and Young sales and he gets Dann, Johnson, Foster and Gardner for that (throw in Jerome) and maybe Ferguson if he wants to join McLeish.

And that would do... only i cant see us getting more than 1/3rd of what we make and save in wages to put back into the team.

At least Villa have offered compensation and draws a line under the situation. I hope lerner will learn as it wont be pretty football at Villa.

Lets move on and I will thank AM for getting a will too dig in and grind results out when we are dead and buried, and the Carling Cup.

Be glad too be rid of for lack of use of players that have potential and wasting money on Champagne Charlies Hleb, Bentley and martins etc. Should hvae at least tried Michel for Ferguson and Derbyshire as he looks like he could score. Derbyshire was frustrating but got into right positions too create a chance, goal will follow but needed more time to get into pace and teams situation, nobody scores playing 4 minutes a game.

Am good riddance No toCurbishley as I think h=he will be 5 minue wonder, Hughton for me would like Di Matteo as assistant as would be good combination?

I think my frustration will really come if and when eck comes raiding our playing staff. However as things stand at the minute with blues an exodus may yet prove to be a good thing... I think most of my frustration has been abated by the reaction of the vile. Good luck to them both, I am sure they will both need it!

Well we simply dont know how he would do at Villa, the question would always be not how good he was or poor but that just for us i could not see things changing so best we parted ways.

McLeish knew what we needed, we knew that Jerome could not score enough and offeres just pace and workerate.

That O'Connor suffered with fitness, and lacked pace for the Prem.

That Phillips was seen as a impact sub at his age (but surely not a last 5 mins one).

And so McLeish did get to adress that, he wanted Chucho who was not given as many chances as Jerome and who maybe just coinsidence when Chucho played we actually Won Games when Chucho was dropped and we played 4,5,1 we simply failed to get even a point a game on average.

Yet McLeish felt Chucho was not good enough...

This season McLeish brought in Zigic, Derbyshire and Martins yet McLeish still STUCK WITH HIS 4,5,1 AND JEROME

And if it was not for those Strikers who never got chances and Phillips who when not in the Cup was used for last 5 minutes every 3 games. WE WOULD NOT HAVE WON THE CUP

Dont lets get started on wingers.

We lacked a propper LM, and needed a winger who could maybe beat his man and penetrate more, fine Larsson offered a lot on defence cover but lacked that edge to create chances and pose a threat to defenders.

What happened we had Hleb (who played his best as a RWM) we had Beausejour a propper LWM with some pace and good crossing, we then had Bentley who is a good player and offers what we needed that Larsson lacked. Oh and then we would have given Redmond more chances off the bench.

But did they get used..... NOPE!

It was Larsson RM, or sometimes Fahey/Bowyer RM when Larsson was subbed off.

It was a rotation of Fahey and Bowyer at LM/LCM yet both was RCM players.

Finally McLeish stressed out club needed someone to spray the ball about and pass which we lacked, and he said he needed a player who would not sacrefice defence duties.

So he signed Gardner who he used, but his main target was Michel who Eck praised when we could not get him.

So we sign him that ball wining, ball playing midfield and what happened to him? EXACTLY

And he can say that Martins, Derbyshire where DISAPOINTMENTS but how many games did they get? Look how many games Jerome got he was never dropped and could not score for love or money.

He also said Zigic needed time to settle to the speed of the Prem and thats why he was not used as much, well that was the same excuse with Zarate only with Zarate we only had him for a short time and so why waste that by not playing him because he needs to settle FFS!

TACTICALLY 7/10 TIMES MCLEISH WAS A CLOWN

I can feel your frustration the KiD, Eck has many shortcomings as we as blues fans are well aware of. As vile fans are generally very interested with how we are getting on then i am sure they are aware of his shortcomings too. I just cant see things going well for either vile or eck. It will be interesting to see if eck takes the quite attractive style of footy the vile are used to and chucks it out to replace it with defensive, lifeless, unimaginative footy, the likes of which we are used to. Remember when he came to blues and got rid of kapo and de ridder because they werent the type of player he wanted. Can you imagine the reaction of the vile fans if he gets rid of albrighton and downing as they dont fit in with his style? Crazy days.

Agreed

Under Bruce Kapo looked ok, he had not settled on a position but he was ok.

When Eck came in it was not long before Kapo was dropped because he did not defend and it was not long before he became Krapo, Oh McFadden was his blue eyed boy.

Kapo was not suited to our style of player, Kapo needed to be played how Wigan played N'Zogbia, Kapo did ok for Wigan but got dropped when N'Zogbia came in.

I would have Kapo back now if his wages was not high i think with right Manager he could do a good job in the Championship.

De Ridder never got many chances, Bruce was not happy at how he was a mini Ronaldo a bit of baby i.e you only had to touch him and he would go down. De Ridder was also pants at defending.

But a few games he did look good, look at the Villa game he was clearly fouled 2 times and nothing given due to his reputation (had we been Man Utd with Ronaldo then they would have been given) De Ridder was also taken out in the box and we got no pen if i can remember.

Any he was far to lightweight for the Prem though.

I remember McLeish saying he and McSheffrey was not fit.

But i saw them play in reserves and De Ridder scored a goal and created 2 others, McSheffrey scored a goal and looked lively. Jerome came on and missed a sitter and should have passed to McSheffrey in open space in the box but never and lost the ball.

Even saw McFadden in reserves one game and he was inconstant, maybe because he was playing to get back to Prem Fitness.

But McSheffrey was also playing reserves to get back fit only he looked sharp.

McLeish is just a clown when it comes to using attack minded players, hence none get used and hence he sticks with defencive players.

Would not shock me to see Eck replace Young with Reo Coker or Barton

I had no frustration to get rid of. I was just happy he left, even happier that he will burden Villa now with terrible football. Now, Ive pretty much forgot the bloke and I am looking forward to the future with a new manager and a fresh start ahead of us.
Alex Mcwho????
Come on you blue boys !!!!!

Yeah my main misunderstanding of this whole saga is why villa, a side with good wingers and an attacking style of footy would want a manager who wouldnt know how to use a wing at KFC? Bizarre. Funny though,

I have always said that McLeish has a style of player he likes.

If he was Man Utd Manager then the likes of Scholes, Carrick, Fletcher and Hargreaves would get games.

Players like Nani, Park, Anderson and Vallencia would not get games well only one would.

And Rooney on his own

McLeish's Man Utd XI

--------------------Van Der Sarr
Right Back*---Ferdinand----Vidic----Evra
-------------------Defencive CM
Fletcher------Scholes----Carick-----Park*
-----------------------Rooney

Right Back = Evans or O'Shea

CDM = either O'Shea or Hargreaves

Maybe he would play Berbatov upfront and have Rooney as CAM.

Meaning Carrick or Defencive CM dropped.

Maybe he would play Giggs LM and move Park to RM again maybe dropping Carrick

And thats really what i think McLeish would have done at Man Utd

The same kind of change in style at Villa will occur.
