Weren't you saying you could beat city the other day?
No I did not, you complete muppet
Culty:
Liverpool should be far better than us. With the amount of money they've spent and with their new manager and not having the burden of European football in midweek (which affects the fixtures on the league generally due to fatigue) unlike us, they should be storming ahead of us. The fact that we're level on points despite our awful start speaks volume
If Dortmund lose tomorrow, Götze will be an Arsenal player in 6 weeks time!
Someone get WNM down here
They'll probably be encouraged by tonight's results too Batman. But I think their lack of experience at this level, home advantage and the lack of pressure on them because of a poor domestic campaign will all tilt it in our favour.

Lottery numbers please Lex
Yes I'll happily admit to that, but be honest with yourself Samir, deep down you know Arsenal are one injury to Van Persie away from being mid-table
---
Even if we do rely on RVP, you rely on getting a man sent off or a gifted goal
Culty you are such a plank, you know that? The poor Liverpool team beat this Arsenal team:
Szczesney
Sagna Miquel Koscielny Gibbs
Nasri Frimpong Ramsey
Rosicky Van Perise Arshavin
Our current team that has won 9 of our last 11 games or something like that is
Szczesney
Jenkinson Koscielny Vermaelen Santos
Arteta Song Ramsey
Walcott RVP Gervinho
See the difference? RVP was DROSS before we made our signings. Was not interested in the slightest. As much as you and everybody else would love to believe it we are far from a one man team in fact without the signings Wenger made we probably would be a lower mid table team and RVP would have less than half the goals he has at the moment. Whatsomore is you only beat us on that day when you brought on Meireles (who you have since scored) and took the lead vs 10 men via a fluke offside own goal.
Don't delude yourself. You know we are better than you, neutrals know we are better, hell even some Pool fans have admitted it recently. Know your place. We are playing a match that if we win will be enough to top our CL group tomorrow, you on the other hand will consider Europa league football a success.

Liverpool's inability to raise their kick and rush game against lesser teams ensures they'll be battling with Newcastle for 6th.

Samir if it wasn't for poor finishing we would be ahead of you( 11 shots against the woodwork feckin hell), but it's all if and buts really, so it's no excuses, onto our purchases - the squad left behind by the previous regime( the two cowboys) was so fockin bad, that we literally had to spend big just to catch up to the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea, quality wise, we're not quite there, in terms of matching Spurs, but I stand by what I said Arsenal are no better than Liverpool and vice versa, the two teams are on an even keel, imo, there not much between them. Atm it looks as though Spurs will finish ahead of both teams, comfortably.
If it wasn't for them not being very good, West Ham would have won the league last year.
how desperate do you have to be to bring in a stat on the number of shots that have hit the woodwork
Culty
I think we may edge it over you but only slightly. Currently Spurs look in pole position to finish above both of our sides but January will be a pivotal month indeed for all clubs. You did have to spend big to catch up, but your manager should not have spent money borne out of desperation and inflating the transfer market in the process - as if prices for players aren't high enough as it is!
Squad players that maybe a few years ago would have been worth £4 million are probably now worth £10 million because of all these extortionate fees for players - players which haven't mounted up to much. Carroll realistically is only worth £13 million at absolute best and you paid over double that for a player who has flattered to deceive and is still having problems with his fitness levels and drinking issues.
I think that after our rough start and now us being level on points with you, we are slightly better than Liverpool.
"how desperate do you have to be to bring in a stat on the number of shots that have hit the woodwork"
Fair points Samir, we've underperformed so far this season, we've missed a lot of chances, but it's no excuse, so far only of our purschases in the last transfer market, only Enrique and Adam have been has been decent, other signings Downing and Henderson have been poor, which is becoming a bit of a problem.
However, it's a long campaign mate and if you remember at the start of the season, people were saying that Arsenal will finish mid-table, are showing relegation form etc. Things change in football all the time, and if I'm not mistaken the two teams are level on points, it's not like we're already 3,4 points behind you already. Like you said January will be pivotal month and indeed it will be, as long as Arsenal and Liverpool are in the race for 4th by that time, they'll most certainly strengthen their squads. You believe in your team and I believe in mine and for as long as we're in with a realistic shout of top 4, you should'nt expect me to write off our chances, get back to me in January if we're miles off the top 4, rub it in if you like.
By the way Samir, are you still serious about that bet you made with me, a while back?
I can't argue with most of that Culty.
''By the way Samir, are you still serious about that bet you made with me, a while back?''
Hey - I never go back on my word. It's my account on the line here, not yours.
do you know if all the shots that hit the woodwork last season (across the whole PL) went in, arsenal would have won the league by some 6/7 points? can't use that as an excuse.
Samir were never supposed to agree to that bet. Batmanu was who the bet was intended for, you're a good poster and this forum needs posters like you, that is why I'll miss you
Batmoron, why didn't you take the bet, you pansy?
Culty
Well I've made the bet now and I'm not going back
Batman's a very entertaining poster and even though you call for his head now, it wouldn't be the same without him. Thanks for your kind words, but you're making it sound as if Liverpool will finish in a Champions League Spot and will finish above Arsenal I guess time will tell.
Because it wasn't a bet If I am to gamble I should get something if I win. You are the true pansy Cultpoo
