No

When robin van tap in can score 53 goals in a season, then we'll talk

You overrate your players to much

No, not at all. The media seem to forget the amount of service he gets from the rest of the team

I think they are referring to his importance to the team. Ronaldo and Messi both score about 50 goals a season, and RvP is on course to get close to that.

Gneht,
Tap-in?? The only bloke I know who can tap in a free kick from 35 yards, or tap-in with the power that saw the balkl fly past Cech in the recent 5-3 win. Or tap in over a keepers head.

Van Persie is a good striker in the form of his life. Why do people go over the top. It's like Van persie is single handedly winning games. His performances haven't even been great but he's scoring goals. This reminds me of Rooney a few years ago

I personally think Messi and Ronaldo are on a completely different planet to everyone in world football. I love RVP but he doesn't fall in that bracket. He will need to score like 45-50 goals this season and the 4 seasons coming up to reach that level because that is what messi and ronaldo have been doing.

What Verminator said.

i agree with verm

messi/ronaldo are a class above anyone right now.

you can't really dispute this.

I haven't seen the quotes, but I doubt they are saying RvP is as good as Messi or Ronaldo, just he has the same importance to his team.

Wenger never compared him to Messi and Ronaldo. It was the Sky reported who said it, Wenger said he would have to keep up this form for a while before any comparisons start. As always the media find a way of twisting Wenger's words into the complete opposite of what he said. On Champions League Goals last night Gullit praised Wenger for playing the comparison down ffs! Wenger doesn't want the same media circus that followed Bale, Young and Rooney around when they were 'better than Messi'.

Also to the OP, if you think RVP is on par with Ronaldo then you haven't been watching La Liga this season. Ronaldo has raised his game to yet another level (if it was even possible).

yeah, it's like he's upgraded to super saiyan
messi is still the better player though

I rate RvP as third best player in the world atm.

Messi is on another universe.
Ronaldo is half way through the that universe.
RvP has just landed on Mars.

The rest are in Earth.

Yh wenger is doing well to not listen to the hype. Arsenal fans can learn a thing or two from him on how not to hype a player who's in decent form, as good as ronaldo or messi

Even James Beattie scored 23 league goals in a season once

Rvp is like Hernandez at Utd. Not a great player but a very good finisher from close range. Though i wouldn't have him in my top 5 premierleague players, nevermind the world

" Arsenal fans can learn a thing or two from him on how not to hype a player who's in decent form, as good as ronaldo or messi"

Voice you won't find many Arsenal fans who think RVP is as good as those 2 players. But in 09/10 you couldn't find a United fan who didn't think Rooney was the best player in the world

good finisher from close range.

He isn't bad from 35 yards either, as the Sunderland fans will tell you.

It doesn't matter that Messi and Ronaldo are a step (or two) above RVP. Its not exactly a criticism to say that a player isn't at their level.

What matters is what RVP is doing for Arsenal. Sure, you'll get a few idiots coming along saying Arsenal is a "one-man-team", but if they had RVP in their side they'd be over the moon.

Great player, in great form. Not much more needs be said really.

Glass half empty Gooner here.

How long before Robin van Porcelain is crocked? It's got to be soon hasn't it?

RVP is so good he has single handedly led Arsenal to 7th in the table this season so far.

I bet Messi and Ronaldo are wondering what they have to do to match that.
