think the 3 point lane thing started when u lost like 10 games and were sitting at the bottom a few seasons ago.
Because stretch back longer than 5 years we have a superior record at WHL.
Arsenal fans still call Stamford Bridge a routine result (from the late 90's - early 00's) despite the fact they have lost 3 of their last 4 games here.
yeh it's all t(i)t-for-tat stuff. I never used to really look forward to playing Chelsea as it was a guaranteed loss home or away, even when the teams were both mid table you would still get the better of us routinely. It did my head in!!
Nowadays I genuinely look forward to our clashes as they are always some of the most entertaining Premiership games of the season with both teams believing/needing to win whatever time of year it is.

I think the reason we have had a equal record ever since you broke the duck in 2006 is because of the mental barrier.
We use to go into Spurs games knowing we will win or at worst draw, where-as Spurs didn't expect nothing since you broke the duck and beat us, were more wary of you and you're more confident. Same with us and Arsenal since we beat them in 2005.
Lets look at the London Legends cup a few weeks ago, most of the Spurs team there never beat Chelsea and most of the Chelsea side never lost to Spurs and although it was just a legends kickabout that was still in the back of both players mind.
Rabbiting on a bit now lol but the point im trying to make is the mental side of football is a really underestimated element.
Its known as 3 point lane, because from the period from August 1987 to November 2006 (almost 19 years) we never knew what it felt like to lose in a league game there and during that period there were famous victories like the 1-6 defeat for Spurs in 1997.
Glad to be able to clear that up for you.
can you get those games on DVD at the club shop too?

I love Chelsea.
Real Chelsea I mean.
Not the one that purchased success via Russian energy markets.
True Chelsea I mean.
You know what Chelsea I mean. The one in the second division in the 70's, the one that never won a trophy or achieved anything! The Chelsea who was only famous for having the most violent hooligan groups and racist fans!
You mean the Chelsea in the 70s that won the FA Cup and ECWC then?
Probably because you've only beaten us 3 times at your place since the PL began?
0 times at SB since the PL began.
Ouch!
Why do we call it 3 point lane? This is why:

Anyway, do you have a DVD of your wins over us?
They have a DVD box set of the league table in february when they were ahead of us in the league. And pienaar signed for them over us. And a commemorative mug too.
They do it because it winds you up, much like the Chavs get wound up when you call them Chavs.
Something to do with all the points we picked up there from about 91 till a few seasons ago perchance!!!
Because we always get three points there
