No You're making up an excuse with the penalty, it wasn't a penalty. The fact of the matter was Arshavin doesn't fit in the new tactics, he isn't quick enough and isn't good with one on ones, these are necessities with the way we are playing. Also I feel a lot of credit must go to Schwarzer who had a fantastic game.

If i had to come up with an excuse I would either go for tired midfield or Djourou is rubbish Kosh should have played.

Actually thought Fulham were good, we didn't take our chances. Referee was awful, but not in a 'he cost us the game' kind of way, he just failed at basic decision making quite often.

Schwarzer pulled off some good saves, especially the one from Djourou's header, and RVP had a one cleared off the line from Baird.

Then they score with their first meaningful attack, and it only goes in because Vermaelen mistimed his challenge.

It's a shame, but we could've and should've won that game.

I thought Djourou had a strong game at right-back. Kos-Verm in the centre would be my preferred partnership though.

Overall Djourou was pretty sound, but i can't help but think Koscielny would have stopped the goal.

all i would say about arshavin is that he hasn't played a game for arsenal in three weeks. it's unfeasible to think he would slot back in without a hitch.
