14 players injured in what is already a thin squad is catastrophic....Howver injuries gappen. The players that are being used are simply noy up to the job. We have said for some time that Jussi and SKD are past their sell by date ....The confidence is shot. They had the chance to turn the corner after thrashing Stoke but no ..they have blown it again...

Unless OC has some master plan then we are fizzy pop bound. To be honest I am sick of the hype about th premiership. Its all about 4/5 clubs and the rest just making up the numbers.....Money aside its the worst thing that ever happened to English football.

Great post aaron As someone pointed out on another thread ..OC brought in replacements for Holden and Lee from outside the club ...but when does he ever play' em? He's not even getting 90% effort out of the ones he IS putting out ....a very nice guy, but unable to motivate (or innovate) when the chips are down .... Hope he finds a miracle cure for that very, very soon, whilst there's still half a chance ....

Aside from Lainton, Gardner and Eave, that isn't really too far off our ideal 11.
Dire as we are this season, we are the most unlucky club in the country.

It's all well and good talking about injuries and they have, of course affected our team massively. An interesting point though that I've seen is that people keep posting different formations using our whole squad (injured or not) but the most important point formation-wise is this:

I would put the Swansea team up as well but it would make the post painfully long. The point is though I would regard our threadbare team as still being a lot stronger, man for man, then Norwich's team, yet they are in the top half picking up points everywhere. They do this by having an incredible home support, a good buzz about the team, and a manager that can get anyone up for a game, regardless of who or how they're playing.

Now we've always lacked any sort of good support, but last season there was a good feeling through all the fans and through the team itself and this was produced by Coyle. That is now missing and I can't see much of an argument to not place the blame for this on Coyle. I'm in the group that isn't really sure whether we want Coyle to go due to the drain on funds that would cause and the lack of obvious replacements but if we could somehow convince Martin O'Neill that we are the team to get him back his reputation then I would snap that up as quick as possible. The chances of that though are next to none.

But the point is, it is not about individuals, its about how we play as a team, we need Holden and Lee for the creativity and to keep the ball.

We've got to find a way to survive without the long term injured players. Our fate might well be decided before they're able to come back and play.
