El Pistolero was a car crash. At least he left us with rocket sconce which is now in my dictionary along with an shambles.

To be honest, I still stand by my original 'two-penneth'. It was regarding the OP not the subsequent comments and in my humble opinion, the OP remains an idiot.
Here was the article El_Pistolero posted....
" Title Cause of Death? - Content Sad news Speed has died. Is it definitely suicide? I hope not, that is a cowardly way to end yr problems, i feel sorry for the kids. Sad how famous ppl are condoning suicide, gloryifying it even"
I deleted it hoping the message was clear, but he re-posted it.

Well as I stated before, I don't need others to help me, to tell me I'm depressed and help me through.

mmmm. Think this could be a symptom too with a lot of depressed people.

Well as I stated before, I don't need others to help me, to tell me I'm depressed and help me through it. I did it myself. People are different and it seems to be the people who need the help but are afraid to ask for it that struggle.
-----------------------------------------------
I actually agree with this. I have been through spells myself where I have been feeling depressed. Fortunately I am lucky in that I can assess myself pretty well and make changes. Some people don’t have that ability.
My main problem was that I wasn’t really going anywhere in the job that I was doing or making use of my qualifications. I was also stuck in an awful flat that was very depressing. First thing I did was go out and do a load of exercise to get out of the flat and feeling positive again. Then I targeted the industry that I wanted to be in and thanks to having more motivation and energy due to the exercise I actually got off my backside and started applying for jobs. Once I got the job I then bought a nice new house and I have been fine since. I think that it is a matter of making a start on a problem area of your life which then starts impacting on other areas. That said my depression wasn’t as bad as the problems that others suffer and was probably self-induced.
Elvis and There'sOnlyOne, I am no expert by any means but I think those that know may say that there is a difference between "feeling depressed" and having "clinical depression."
I think what this post shows as well as a number of the comments is that depression and suicide remains a subject that is misunderstood and stigmatised by large sections of the population. It's the primary cause of death in teenagers and people under 35.
As long as people have the attitude that it is a 'cowards way out' or a solution for the spiritually weak or mentally defective, or for people who are too selfish to think of their loved ones, then these attitudes prevent people from seeking the help that they need.
It's not simply a case of 'pulling yourself together' and the sooner that is generally recognised and understood, the better.
Ive never suffered from depression thank god and I dont think until youve been in that position like AR has that anyone is in a position to judge.
What I would like to add though is how refreshing it is to read AR's experiences of dealing with it. He's been nothing but open, honest and very frank about his experiences. Its good to know youve turned your life around and that youve taken the positives. I know it maybe a daily battle but youve shown great courage coming on here and being so open. If you keep that courage up Im sure you'll only keep improving. Well done my mate.

Yeh I would agree - although I think that one leads to the other if you dont deal with it early. Too many short spells of depression can soon lead into one constant spell of depression if changes arent made. Just my opinion though and I dont really know too much about the medical facts of it.

Very harsh way of looking at it! you, and I have no idea as to why he did it!
A cry for help if the hardest thing to do, to take your own life is the easy way out..
Just wished he had chosen the first option

Just goes to show, behind their smile, you never really know what's on someone's mind and how they see the world. Children, wife and his own parents all crushed for years to come. Very sad for them all!

I sent the application in on the forth of this month and should hear a decision anytime now. If refused it will destroy me but my main focus will be on it not destroying my wife. I will block out my own feelings on the matter until I know my wife is fine. Then after a few weeks I'll be back on track ready to beat the government again. I won't give up and that is what keeps me going and why I don't need help, as I give myself enough motivation.
-----------------------------------
Good luck with that mate. Where is she from by the way?
Depression is caused by a chemical imbalance of serotonin in the brain. This leads to low mood, feelings of absolute hopelessness and in a lot of cases suicidal ideation.
Unfortunately and tragically, some people try to deal with this themselves, not realising that positive thinking and strong will is useless. Part of this stems from a remaining stigmitization in the general public of mental illness. This is much improved even in the past decade; sadly people still say things like suicide is cowardice due to poor education. These people aren't cowards, they are sick and need medical help. The only way this can be dealt with is for people to feel they an be open and honest about these problems without fear of judgement or prejudice.
In the future, if someone says to you suicide is cowardice, please inform them of these things. Hopefully people will start to change their mind and these people can start to get the help they need.
