Why? People who dont play video games have lives that are the envy of others is it? Ok mate. Whatever makes you feel happy.

i was always pro until 2010 fifa and i haven't looked back

Since 2008 neither. Played FIFA until FIFA 98: Road to World Cup then was Pro Evo ever since.

It peaked in 2008 and has got more FIFA-like every year. You can stick your real players, and licences, and fancy graphics, FIFA just doesn't play like a real football game, everything's too neat.

Plus it's impossible to dribble on FIFA, a player can press tackle anywhere near the ball and he'll magically come through your player to take the ball. I like being able to shield it, and hold the ball up. Impossible on FIFA.

it's only impossible if your s**t at the game

The way I see it, I shouldn't have to play a game for hours to simply not get tackled from behind when it's physically impossible for the defender to reach the ball. That makes the game s**t. If it can't get the simple things right then I don't want to play it.

Doesn't really bother me anyway, I'm not the one who has to spaff £50 on a new but ultimately very similar game every year, just because I like taking E.A.'s load in my butt

Mate, Thats exactly why I cant stand FIFA, You cant do anything with the special players in the game like Messi, Ronaldo. In Pro Evo, Each player had a certain skill which you could use to its advantage., Like Drogba had power, to hold off defenders and I could dribble with him and go past a few defenders

Essien again was the same

In Fifa, The only way to score a goal is pass pass pass pass which then gets intercepted then you have to start again with the passing. They've made every player generically the same. Messi cant go on his dribbles because he'l get intercepted by someone silly like Titus Bramble which in real life wouldnt happen.

I know it sounds silly because that's how you're meant to play football but it just doesnt do it for me.

Fifa just ruined the game. The only reason everyone is crowing about it is because visually and aesthectically they've got every single thing right in the game with licences, club badges, stadiums, players appeareances etc. Apart from that. Its a load of garbage. Cannot touch pro evo 2008.

You've taken the words right out of my mouth. The game is too neat. Doesnt let you dribble the ball at all. Messi/Ronaldo are just another player in the game. Nothing special about them. I dont expect FIFA converts to realise it because they're too excited by the new kits/stadiums they get to play with.

Agreed, it's all about pass pass pass shoot, or running down the wing with someone who's lightning fast and passing it across goal. I've scored genuinely beautiful goals on Pro Evo, brilliant movement, clever touches, cheeky finishes. Actually using the players attributes to get the best out of them. I don't think you could ever do the same thing on FIFA.

It fell off when the switch over was made to PS3. You mentioned it before I think. I think partly because EA have the budget to deal with the PS3 system and the HD format and what not and Konami has no way got that sort of budget. Thats why it fell behind FIFA so hard. Im waitng for the day until Pro Evo comes back though. Hopefully this year might invest in a ps3 slim and new pro evo.

Fifa is better by far.

'I've scored genuinely beautiful goals on Pro Evo, brilliant movement, clever touches, cheeky finishes.'

You can do it in Fifa as well If you know how to play properly no offence.

There is no "play properly" in FIFA. You either one-touch pass through the opposition or run down the wings with quick players.

Anyway, none taken, especially not from a FIFA fan

Imo both are pretty buggy. Scripted as well. Can't complain though, I can't do any better and its impossible to make the perfect football game.

Master league triumphs all modes however.

I'd like to suggest that the World Challenge on PES 2008 was the ultimate of all modes. Always fresh and ridiculously difficult but worth the effort. Love the Master League though.

I'll be renting both this year. I wasn't impressed by either this year, although PES made the larger steps forward. Wasn't enough im afraid. It was so far behind in animations and freeplay(scripting) that its going to take a few years to get back to the top.

Goalies not under the players control is just ridiculous in this day in age.

Yeah the Goalkeeping situation in fifa is shocking I must admit they need to improve that massively,If you mean in fifa.

No I meant the goalkeeping in pes. Its very very very poor. Even after a save you can't toss the ball back out quickly nor hold onto it. Its all automated. The only thing you can do is hold Y(triangle) for them to rush out.
