What do you mean by as well?
============================
In addition to playing well against Newcastle. Hes a class player Giggs, even at 38!
.............
Yes he is, and I am not disputing that. My problem is he gives the ball away too easilly when in the middle, and it can be freustrating to watch.
In the first half he gave away possesion a fair bit. He was OK late in the game mainly because Newcastle set their stall out to hang on.
If you watch the game again, and I have, from around 55 minutes to around 70 minutes Newcastle pretty much dominated possession because we could not keep hold of the ball.
The problem is none of our midfielders are good at retaining possession...none. Thats why we are crying out for a quality midfielder.
What part of the ground were you sat in?
...................
I had the panopramic view of my 50 inch Hig Def with instand replay TV Screen. I don't live in the UK anymore.
And don't try to pretend you can see more of the game from being there because that is utter bollox.

====================================
Woah there fella, don't get defensive, I just assumed you were at the match. I had no idea you didn't attend matches.
Watching in the stands can be helpful though as you see far more of the players movement off the ball. You also get a sense of whats in front of players making passes, the options they have, the movement and space they create from making runs without the ball and all that type of thing.
If you're ever visiting the UK make sure you go to Old Trafford. I'm not a Man U fan but I've been before and its a great stadium, really takes your breath away.

The stats would say that very few teams have more possesion than us. Barcelona for sure, Arsenal, Chelsea, City and Liverpool at home. Before Evans was sent off United with its 'poor' midfield had more possesion than City.

It would be very difficult for me now. I used to go when ever I could back in the day, but work always dictated that I am afraid.
I have very rarely lived in the UK since I was 18.
Don't know if this has been said only read first few comments. ........................
If SAF was in the market do you think he'd be coming out saying " we have a wee crisis in midfield; so, fellow managers, any of your players we enquire about, just add 50% to your asking price. Just thought I'd warn you so you can see me coming in the distance"

Not even close. You only have the benefit of one angle at the game, and no replays.
You sometimes miss part of the game because people jump up in front of you. I lost count of goals I missed because some idiot jumped up right in front of me at the wrong moment.
Don't get me wrong, you can not beat the atmosphere of seeing any sport live, nothng compares to it.
Watching live means that you form your own opinion...watching it on tv means your opinion is formed for you by the program controller, you then form an 'opinion' based on what he/she wants you to see...sort of like a second hand opinion!
You see more of the movement of the players off the ball live.
Everything else is better on the big screen including the program controllers perspective.

Unfortunately some of our fans can't seem to grasp this basic concept. They also forget most quality players are cup tied in Europe and would be silly to sign some of their choices.
Cheers

Are they really United fans?
That is the question my friend. They sound more like plastics and glory hunters to me though.

Billy,
This ranks up there among your most ill thought out comments.
I like to think most people are capable of forming their own opinion, not have it made for them by a commentator.
You, obviously, cant form your own opinion, and are verty easily led.
So from now on I will treat any comment you make on a Unted game with utter contempt, as you have just told us it is not really your opinion but the commentators.
Or are we to believe you go to all Uniteds games?

So am I. But we all know he will.
I have this book marked next time the twerp decides to share his, or more likely, someone elses opinions with us.
BillyBob will probably claim that he watches football on TV with the sound turned down.
Don't give him ideas recently, on the rare occasions I'm not having to watch the game slyly at work I've taken to having Talksport on over the top of the muted game. What is actually happening and what Talksport will tell you is happening are pretty far apart

Who mentioned commentators? I certainly didn't!
Next time you get all excited thinking I have said something silly then I suggest you actually get it right. Rather than going off half-cocked and forcing me to have to correct your error!
VC
As for my comment about 'opinion being subject to what the PROGRAM CONTROLLER wants you to see', then that is common sense is it not? It is as I said a 'second hand opinion' of the game, based on what someone else thinks is important to see...this means that I am guilty of never having an original opinion, and if that means that you treat my comments with 'utter contempt' then fair enough!
PS..You fall into the same bracket as me, so you should be aware that your comments thus have exactly the same validity as mine, I am happy with that...are you?
