Gary Speed Tribute on Wednesday

"There'll be two Welsh lads playing for us on Wednesday night."

Tell them not to play if they are too upset.

This is not something organised by your Club. The turnip above who likened it to the English FA and the Welsh FA paying respects to head of the Scotland team is about as way off track as you can go. This is a pathetic attempt by Celtic fans to shout 'Look at us. Look at us!'

Some cynics may even suggest it is a feeble and laughable attempt to shout the same thing at UEFA... prior to your 'case' regarding your odious, obnoxious, offensive singing.

"Look. Look! We are good ghhhhuys."

Not me right enough.

Wee bit ott considering Stevie's circumstances. However, to each their own.

Personally, I'd have thought doing this at the weekend would be more appropriate than a wed European game.

Good to see you back, btw.

p!shy,

Just drap it. You are p!!ssed off because it's Celtic, end of.

I repeat. If you slag off people for partaking in a form of remembrance, how on earth can you criticize the Green Brigade for protesting the poppy?

Total double standards from a brainless oink. Did you tell Claudio Reina not to play after 9/11?

what are you dorks 'remembering' though?

"Did you tell Claudio Reina not to play after 9/11?"

Erm... is that not you arguing MY point, ya clownshoe? And.. are you equating the death of Gary Speed with 9/11?

Maybe I was slightly OTT, but that's an issue I've had close dealings with an it's always guaranteed to push my buttons when people spout off crap like that when they clearly don't understand what they are talking about.

For what it's worth Stevie, I'm sorry for your loss.

Ishy. I've had loads of issues with you in the past, and probably will do in the future, but thanks for speaking up with the best wishes.

WCD, maybe I was a little too equivocal, given what my missus has gone through this past week. All loss of a young life is tragic. But her cousin was given no choice. And I therefore struggle to mourn for someone who could choose to live. It's his family left behind I feel for.

RIP Paul M.

Alba - sorry to hear of the loss mate...

I think its all relative. Amy Winehouse died and the music industry collectively mourned the loss of a talented individual. There were tributes and songs played at events all over the music calendar including fans tributes to someone who many didnt know but respected. There were also many who thought it was bound to happen due to the nature of the lifestyle and went 'aww well'

In this case the confusion here doesn't seem to centre around the fact of the respect being paid rather the fact that its perceived that the Celtic fans are looking for recognition for the act...and i cant get my head round that.

If you dont want to do it - dont. Its called the freedom of expression.

Ishy - to clarify earlier the William and Kate message had sod all to do with sympathy and equally sod all to do with football - so why was it there prevalent on a rangers strip, worn by the captain if not for a 'look at us' gesture...

As I say - glass houses...

I just posted this last night and this is the first I've looked at it today.

Yes it obviously came off Twitter as it says.

Ish, I was a regular poster on the old 606 and you do come across quite an unpleasant character. I remember you being involved in an article which asked who was the better player for Celtic, Tommy Burns, Phil O'Donnell or John Thomson. That make me sick to the core.

Some people do seem to have time for you but I can't work out why.

You've even got someone commending you for speaking up with best wishes. But is speaking up with best wishes actually what you were doing when your initial reply was ?

Why can't people just show respect however they want?

Taffy... when did you find out it was on his strip?

Green Genie... what does posting a picture of Sir David of Weir signify? Nobody... including you.. knew it was on his shirt. Neither the club nor the player said anything about it... let alone the fans.

Mock grief... 'Look at us. Look at us'. Pure and simple

Apologies Ish I only posted that as I misread and thought you had asked where did you find it, not when.

My previous comment shows full well my feelings on the issue.

No-ones greeting about anything zachsda. I was merely passing on information.

The fact that it has turned into some sort of point scoring exercise is not my problem. People shouldn't be told who they should and shouldn't show respect for.

When the camera panned across and it was there in inch high lettering...

Still no answer as to why it was there in the first place other than to signify how "quintessentially British" you are as a club...

Taffy... you might be able to fool your wife into understanding what an inch is... but not me!

If you are saying you spotted that... AND were able to read it....then I tell you you're a liar.

Plus... nothing was said before the game by the fans... never mind the club... that any form of 'respect' should be shown. I have no interest in the slightest in the Royal Family or who they marry... suffice to say I'd pump her... after I'd done with her sister.
