It would be very interesting to see what Kenny does when Gerrard is back. I agree with you. Adams has been one of your best players.

Adam certainly doesn't deserve to be dropped. If Gerrard has the willingness and the legs I could see him playing on the right side. especially when we use the 4-4-2.

Spot on TR, he has been cracking for us of late. One thing that frustrates me though is he's meant to be a free kick/set piece specialist. But his free kicks have struggled to beat the first man. It's the same on corners too. I'm sure it's something Kenny and his team will work on.

I agree.

Although I think Kuyt has played very well.

These troubles really bode well. I though Maxi was unlucky to be dropped after his display against Chelsea, admittedly he did fade in the 2nd half. We appear to finally have some decent strength in depth in terms of certain areas of the squad.

Adam won't be dropped when Gerrard comes back.

He's becoming our new Xabi.

I think Gerrard would still walk in to the Liverpool team something like

--------------------Adam--------Lucas--------
Kuyt/Bellamy/Maxi---Gerrard-------Downing
--------------------------Suarez-------------------

he has the passing range of Xabi Alonso and the vision to do it, see the pass to johnson for chelsea goal.

No, he doesn't. He has a good range of passing no doubt, but he doesn't have THE passing range of Alonso, no shame in that though, not many players in the world do.

=============================

Alonso was not God. People remember him as if he some sort of bloody superhero that won us every game with a 70 yard ball. He was a fantastic passer, but believe me, Charlie does have his range.

I agree he has stepped up his game recently but i think some of this has to do with him and Lucas finding a very good understanding. watching on sun you could see that they have found their own space. keep them together def but i would play gerrard just in front of them as this free him up from defensive duties and provides a link to striker (as first half on sun this was missing)!!!

An interesting comparison, Charlie with Xabi, Charlie being dismissed out of hand by some. Remember Xabi's first season? No, not world-class either. At their respective times, in comparison, Charlie has my vote. StevieG? No one seems to know how he got his injury/illness, the 'foot infection'. I struggle to buy it. Just, as I suspect StevieG will struggle to get back in the team. JimmyTheRed

I think remembering Alonso as better than he was is more embarrassing. If Charlie's name was Adaminho we'd be raving about him, but because he came from Blackpool and looks like he eats rocks he's massively under-appreciated.

Exactly, it took time for Xabi to become World Class and Charlie is only young. He's got the ability, it just needs honing, which will happen at Anfield.

That is just crazy. Alonso's first season, and his last was awesome.

========================

His first season he used to get absolutely panned for trying the Hollywood ball, shooting from halfway and not being quick enough around the middle of the park.

Remind you of anyone?

Charlie A has cut down risky Hollywood balls and now passing to Lucas a lor more when there's no one to pass to. Also he's played a bit more forward recently.

When gerrard comes back, i feel we have to go to a 4-3-3. Gerrard and Adam taking turn to support Suarez with bellamy, maxi, downing, kuyt playing wide. Lucas Obviously holding!!!

Ok so I am no Adam fan, but to be fair the last few weeks he has looked a lot better (less sloppy passing and wasted shots). If you look at him at the start of the season he looked overweight and constantly ran out of steam around the 60min mark leaving a hole in the middle of the park.

Now he looks a lot thinner and fitter, still unconvinced about his ability to last the full 90 yet (like Meireles) but I have to give him credit for getting his head down and working hard to improve.

Adam is our most creative player. That is a fackt.
