For a rather more balanced view have a read.

And you must always remember Galloway is from Dundee its still 1978 up there and the burds have facial hair.

Oh and Remember 'treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself' then we have no issues.

Really sad that a man of his age and position should be so bitter.

Who, Ishy?

I met him many years ago in the Downhill pub.

Spoke for about 10 mins and he seemed a genuine guy with strong socialist morals.

In recent years he has seem his mandate reduce to nil.
Therefore he has to create controversy to get anyone talking about him.

Atheist I dont think he has a position anymore, hence the problem.

Exactly ath,

Left the lecture enraged but content in the view he showed himself up as an arrogant fool with a chip on his shoulder.

Another point I've just remembered is that he said Republicanism couldn't be sectarian in anyway as Wolfe Tone was a Protestant! I really wanted to point out about the McNeills being Irish-Scots Catholics and that an idea can stray from its roots but it wasn't the platform as 95% of the audience was lapping up his speech.

Duke, fantastic article and probably the most sensible piece on sectarianism I have read.

Duke, was meaning his column in the DR and his radio show. Still gives him a platform.

Do you know what worrys me, i have a friend i know who went to that who is a Kilmarnock fan and knows not a jot about the ins and outs of 'sectarianism', it seriously worrys me that people who have yet to make a judgement on the issue, left that lecture with that lesson.

The diatribe he has apparantley spouted has done nothing but hamper efforts made on both 'sides' to stamp out the problem.

Galloway is a hell of a speaker but a contemptable character.

Its amazing the amount of numbskulls that you find in politics.

I wouldn't read too much in to Galloway to be honest, the guy has a massive chip on his shoulder.

Although i recomend listening to some of his calls on a show where he berates people about the wars etc, it's absolutely hilarious.

Agree platform rather than position.

Its typical of our jack ass media who would rather sell papers though controversy than through news.

Galloway is a disgrace and any old man who dresses up as a cat in black lycra does not deserve a platform from which to spout hatred.

My favourite quote of his was when he was "Coming through Glasgow airport, where I was accosted by throngs of RAAAAA PEEPULLLL!!!"

Get it up ye George ya useless auld vv@nker!!!
