PAOK and Rubin will play out a draw. Spurs are out.
Not 100% sure but is the Europa league one of those guff competitions that places head to head records above goal difference?
Don - We couldnt score a goal from open play in 180 minutes V PAOK, thats worrying in itself
We need PAOK and Kazan to draw...and us to win + a 5 goal margin i think
It wont happen

I posted an article last night explaining how to progress We play our absolute full-strength team in Ireland, run up a cricket score by half-time, then sit back, and await the last minute penalty that PAOK will score to give them a 1-0 victory. Job done.
No seriously, we shot ourselves in the foot last night, we only needed a draw in all reality, and I doubt we will progress now. I would expect Harry to send the boys over to Ireland for a runaround, and that will be that.
The downside is there are going to be a lot of squad players sitting on their backsides from now until May.
RRP, Just proves how poor we are up top without Adebayor and VDV don't it mate .....Same old spurs last night. All the play without doing anything great and when we did we couldn't hit a barn door......was so poor it was unreal. Anyway i stay positive and i still think we have a chance aslong as Harry actually plays a decent side against Shamrok ....I'm annoyed we have treated this competition lightly
Don - We are back on the strikers situation again ...i have missed it if im honest
Was very poor last night, our back line didnt even turn up
I just thought our 2nd string team was stronger than it actually is, but we simply dont have the goals, struggled throughout this competition
Knowing our luck we'd bang in 8 and they'd concede last minute to draw

Hedley - Your right with that, i just thought the team we had out last night which included the likes of Lennon, Modric and Defoe would have been enough to get the job done...but everything was undone in the first 15 minutes
I know its not fair to base things on one game, but Corluka, Bassong, Pienaar and Kane are not up to the right standard
It's not just last night, how lucky were we at home to Rubin?
This competition has provided real proof (if it were needed) how shocking our 2nd string are.
Let's hope Harry gets rid/farms out the slackers in January.

Hedley - Your right with that, i just thought the team we had out last night which included the likes of Lennon, Modric and Defoe
Unfortunately 3 players do not make a team, I have to say Modric played well, Lennon had his moments, but Defoe just could not get in the game. As for the rest of the team, I could not really single out any player that played well.
This is not the FULL 2nd string, fully fit and on form.
But the 2nd strikers have been so, and are poor.
But they are the remnants of the "futile four" + Gio, so no surprises there.
Hedley - I think Modric was actually really impressive yet again, Lennon was in and out of the game but was always a threat...i have made my thoughts clear on Defoe in the past...not a fan of his, doesn't do enough for the team
We blew it and I hope Harold gave them a rollicking at full time as a loss is a loss.
BUT on the flip side we now have no mid week games from late January - Easter (mid April). Saturday 3pm is back boys.
Saturday 3pm
The day and time football should be played
RRP, You see my point at Half time about Kane and Livermore though mate? I think they completely proved my point even more with that dire 2nd half performance. I'm sorry mate but i know they are young but they have had quiet a few games now in Europe and so far has failed to even look like decent footballers. I thought Kane was absoloute atrocious last night and some people might think i'm being harsh but that's the truth i'm afraid.
It's alright Don we can get through this

Don - Sorry went for lunch
Kane has been a big let down hasn't he, was really hoping he would grab his chance but he looks so off the pace, reminds me a bit of Pav with running into dead-ends
Corluka was shocking, and some people 'd me for saying he wasn't good enough a few days ago

At least it gives us a bit of perspective and should stop people getting carried away with our present prem form.
Now posters might stop the hype that we have such a fantastic squad. We have a great starting X1 and possible a good couple of subs but thats about it I am afraid.
RRP I have been saying Corluka is not good enough for 2 years and I stick by it. Gallas the same, well past his sell by date and I am still trying to work out just why we signed Pienaar
Grand - I was getting pelters for questioning Corluka a few days ago
Pienaar...strangest signing EVER
Everyone was expecting a striker to come in...and then we bring in ANOTHER midfielder
"and I am still trying to work out just why we signed Pienaar"
Because Levy doesn't want your mind rotting watching UK daytime TV.
RRP dont worry about getting pelters on here just enjoy it when the rose tinted glasses brigade look total planks when your opinions are vindicated
