On my way home in shock, need to check full time scores when I get in. Still can't believe it. I know its Christmas soon, but Santa's been early lol.
Well, I know one swallow a summer doth ot make, but I am beginning to feel much more confident.
Let's look at the situation, we have Diouf for the rest of the season, Goulon may go back to Blackburn, hopefully Beye will be allowed to stay on a season long loan and I presume Fortune will go back.
Hopefully we can keep Ikeme, and I wonder, will Ilunga linger longer, and we also have the possibility of Chimbonda staying on. If you add to that the players Willie McKay has in the pipeline ( according to Goodwin on player, the deals are done for the New Year) we should be OK for survival. What do you think Azza and Zigger, are you with me on this ?
I'd almost forgotten how it felt to leave the Keepmoat knowing that the team had played a very good side and deservedly won. Beye was rightly the man of the match but the whole team played with exceptional determination and no little skill. It's going to be along haul, but if they can match that performance week in week out anything is possible.
Just got back from the game.
Best performance i have seen for a long time.
100% effort given by every player, Beye and Hird were outstanding.
Although Saints had a lot the ball, especially in the first half, they didnt really create too many clear cut opportunities.
After Billy's goal i expected "the Alamo" but it didnt happen.
Rovers deserved the win today and i for one, have taken much belief from it.
I notice now that other contributors to 606 besides Lanzarote have taken to using the phrase "no.26" when referring to Coppinger.
Very disrespectfull in my opinion, why not show support for the player by using his name.
Just got in. How good was that, great performances all over the park, but ikeme & beye outstanding.
To a man they played together as a team with real spirit.
The beer is gonna go down so well tonight!!
Well done lads!
Hi NY! What a great result! Didn't go today was my birthday so gone away to northumberland for the weekend! What a great present :D Was not expecting that at all so well done to the players and more importantly Deano!! As always NY you know me you zigger and a few other all stand toe to toe and after the comments I made in midweek (which I thought were needed) we've obviously done the business today and what an excellent result! I predicted 0 points in dec as I'm sure many did looking at our fixtures so to get 3 against the team top of the league and moving to within 4points of safety reinstates my optimism! So yes I agree with you
Thanks think ill have a few in celebration
Very well done Donny - I really enjoyed the result as I went to the old Dell for three years when I was at Southampton University. For once I was too busy to hear any of the live commentary - last night was our annual Bubbly event in our wine shop. I was faced with nearly 200 champagne glasses to wash, and our commercial dishwasher is fast, but very noisy.
I think it is time to raise a glass of left over Champagne to the Rovers, and to wish the best to Rovers' fans all over the world. Let today be the start of something really good.
I'm beginning to believe the optimism NY has about the new regime.
RTID
Just got better. Boro won 1 - o at Bristol and scored in 91st Min.
Strange but True
Salute` Mickey, or as they say in all the best French vineyards, Bottom's up.
I really do feel more and more excited to see what the New Year brings. If all is to be beleived we are to have a team like we have not had before which should help us out of the mess.
Cheers, NY!
I'm now out of Champagne and had to resort to Spanish Cava. However, it is a vintage dated Cava for $9.00!
I'm soooooooooooo proud!!
Thank goodness you were not down to Korbel Sham - pagne Mickey.
If you go to the Milwaukee Journal site you will see a piece on a sale they had in the visiting dressing room. They had empty Champagne bottles from the play off celbration for $ 250 each. I bet you wish you could do that with your empties!!!!!!!
Went out for a celebration after we got home. Great performance from all the lads. For me it was definitely a penalty, the linesman didn't look like he was flagging for offside in the first instance
Ikeme's a revelation in goal - if only we'd had him from the start of the season
I've got to say I still fully expected to concede near the end, not sure why because looking back we didn't look like we would, guess its a force of habit.
I can enjoy my week now
I hope they show the penalty shout tonight. Linesmen normally just raise the flag for offside - this guy was waving it around in the way that they do when they've seen a foul. Great performance from everyone today.
I've only seen the so-called Highlights, but agree with Donnylass that if we had Ikeme from the start of the season things would be somewhat different.
Very pleased (and surprised to be honest). From what I read sounds like it was the best performance of the season. Hope we have turned a corner, but we've had a few false dawns already.
Regards Micky & NY.Sorry I haven't posted lately.Great result!I've been brushing up my French so I can shout "Allez les rouge!"MIcky,I'm now on McGuigan Estate Merlot which is a cracker!
