Newcastle desperately need to test Cech. A shot on target would be a start.
That was another Drogba like moment from Ba, the control, turn and shot with strength and balance
Have to say Krul is the best 'keeper in the PL
Not a surprise the outstanding Mata was the creative force behind Drogba's goal.
We were much better than Newcastle
What a half of football......
Big controversy, but we have been by miles the better team and we should have killed the game by now.
A lot of players playing well for Chelsea but the stand out performers for me have been Romeu and John Terry followed by Mata and Sturridge.
Drogba has been brilliant since the gola but what a ghost before he scored
Sturridge will not score today,it is obvious karma is against him so he should focus on setting others up
I actually think it should be Mata got best player so far, closely followed by Sturridge and Romeu. Luiz has been below par for his hihj standards but not terrible/awful
Sturridge has been excellent but I think he's still a little bit too "honest" with his finishing. Top strikers always try to deceive the goalkeeper before striking the ball.
Excellent half of football.
Newcastle will feel aggrieved Side show bob is still on the pitch. Ba impended, Luiz the last man, so how was that not a red?! Inconsistencies from officials frustrates the hell out of me.
But apart from that Chelsea have been bright going forward with Sturridge enjoying the lion's share of chances. He and Mata are shredding the Newcastle defence apart, time and time again. And with Newcastle suffering an enforced substitution to their own colossus, Collicini, Chelsea must feel they can build on their lead.
If I was AVB i would be considering taking Luiz off and bringing on Bosingwa, but that is not an easy decision.
Forgot to mention Krul, outstanding.
So overall... For me best player has been Mata, closely followed by Sturridge and Romeu. Terry has also been solid, Ba has been very good today, had alot to deal with. Ivanovic has also impressed. Cech hasn't been tested other than a great save from a Ba flick. Ramires, Cole, Drogba and Lampard have been OK/average, but please no more Lampard penalties! No-one has been rubbish really
However overall MOTM so far has got be Krul, great 'keeper
* impended? meant impeded
Remember Lampard took penalty ahead of Ballack so he will continue to take it no matter how poor he does.
If the score remains 1-0 because of Krul's heroics, I can see a Newcastle goal.
Sturridge or Drogba should take penna's
So all Luiz bashers, what has he done wrong today?it's because of him we are still in the game. Without that tackle, who knows, maybe Ba would have scored and would have been a different story. He has made a LOT of interceptions, got the ball out of defense ok. made some important runs upfront. SO WHAT HAS HE DONE WROGN I aASK???
People, be objective with your critizism!!
Agree Blue Texan, he hasn't been good really but he also hasn't been terrible, people exagerate on him
Sturridge has had a good game but also a bad game because he has squandered a lot of good positions and has been selfish at times.
Terry has not put a foot wrong yet and I just hope this case stops at the CPS.

Great point .
But he was lucky to get away with it. I'd rather we concede a goal than playing with 10 men.
Tackle? You mean foul. For all his talent he doesn't seem to read things well. Often caught flat footed.
