to be correct, the xbox did outsell the ps3. then the ps3 was released.
since release, worldwide sales of ps3 has always been above xbox, though oddly in the UK the xbox did stay ahead for a while, but has fallen behind since the demise of hd-dvd.
also, one would hope that a service you have to pay for would have some advantages over a free one, but i certainly have no complaints over the psn, it's pretty comparable with live, and IMO outstrips it on the basis that it's free.

PS3 has a strong fan base due to the PS1 and 2 being so good. Xbox 360 didnt have it easy due to the original Xbox (in my opinion) not being that good. Since release though I believe the 360 has gone from strength to strength. A lot of people buy the PS3 because of the blu-ray element (as well as gaming) but since you can pick up much better blu ray players for a lot less the sales seem to have dropped. Thats just what I've noticed anyway. Also the slim xbox and kinect only seem to have boosted the Xbox sales.
Regardless, nintendo are wiping the floor with everyone else.
Already got Iplayer, but then again I have a superior console
Ps3 already has 4od iplayer itvplayer lovefilm and vidzone and playtv
Will Sony really let cackle onto a rival console??
