Hamburg was on the tip of me fingers
German U-boats used the enigma machine to encrypt their messages. The british were able to break this code by mechanical means. What was the machine called? and who was the mechanical engineer who created the device to Alun Turings specification?

Capturing the machines did help them to understnad the workings of them though RAP so they were instrumental in solving the problem
