What did Scolari, Carlo etc achieve by being good to the press?
==========================================
They didn't have the swagger and confidence AVB had but more to the point they were silent and quiet, these kind of people are chastised less than the likes of Wenger and Benitez who were controversial and outspoken types
What the media is picking up on atm is AVB's English. He is undoubtably verbose but the media are associating this with madness. How pathetic can you get?
What I would like to ask these hacks and commentators is "do you condider yourself to be more intelligent than AVB as it is you that are demonising him?"
The answers should be interesting.
Bubbles ?
I have been observing the chelsea board for a long time and I have read some of your articles. Please elaborate further , you have highlighted a sentence from the article are you suggesting avb should take the same approach as carlo etc.
I am loving the way AVB is dealing with those wimps. Not everyone will be like Carlo, he doesn't give a damn about them or what they say and i love that. Let them continue to spit their nonsense, the most important thing is to get the job done on the pitch and we don't need to be loved by the press.
The media has some serious problem with chelsea(and arsenal as well). Man utd loses and they're "in transition". But if Arsenal or chelsea loses, they call for the manager's head. In the coming weeks, i want AVB to win all matches just to silence the media. BRING IT ON AVB!!!
The media have shown themselves up as the bias bunch they are this week for sure. It's incredible that in a week where BOTH Manchester clubs exited the CL and Rooney's ban for the Euros was reduced against the odds ..... all they can focus on is AVB.
I knew AVB was tactically very precise and so on, but i never thought he had this attribute in his locker. The press can call him everything under the sun (inexperience, naive, Mourinho wannabe, etc....) but the fact is, one post-match conference has got them filling their papers with half baked stories surrounding Chelsea half a week later. N this particuplar way of going about it is a page directly out of Jose's book, the more of a hate figure he makes himself, the less we'll hear that the players are old and past it.
In many respects AVB = JM
I remember at the begining of JM's tenure that the press stated that JM was not competent or hard enough to deal with the media due to his Catholic beliefs.
They were obviously wrong then as they are now.

Not at all, I am 100% behind AVB. I am fairly outspoken myself and I would much rather have a Mourinho/AVB type manager that is willing to defend the club and the fans than a Carlo/Scolari type that would say nothing.
Maybe the press will warm to him as they did with Ranieri. The press hated Ranieri at first and said he was a disgrace to the game because he couldn't speak a word of English, which was a tad harsh as I'm willing to bet none of these so called journo's are bilingual themselves. He picked up the language quickly and eventually the press warmed to him.
Despite what the media tries to brainwash those that are not intelligent enough to form their own opinions into thinking AVB and Mourinho are completely different, there are some similarities, but same could be said of any manager.
As we've already seen with the phone hacking stories etc the press are running out of things to write about. The internet and social networking in particular is quickly replacing journalism and IMO the sooner it does the better.
I had hoped that sooner rather than later the press would find another target, I had hoped it would be City but they seem to love them as they are northern
The bottom line is the press are xenophobic, racist bigots.
There is a reason why the media prefer Spurs and West Ham to Chelsea and Arsenal. Main reason being that Chelsea and Arsenal were one of the first clubs to attract the influx of foreign players. Technical players such as Bergkamp and Zola were making fools out of the 6 foot 2 "British" centre halves half of whom had half their front teeth missing anyway. They could no longer dive in as players such as Bergkamp and Zola etc had too much skill and could accommodate for this type of defending. This actually changed the league into a more technical league which then had a knock on effect as referees had to change their approach by protecting the more technical players.
West Ham will wrongly always be remembered by the press for "Winning the World Cup" which in the media's eyes was the greatest ever achievement in his countries eyes since Churchill's speech. They can do no wrong, the media even christened them as the "academy of football" . They will always have that British feel about them in the media's eyes. Similar thing with Spurs as well, a lot of great British players played (not came through) for Spurs i.e Hoddle, Gazza, Blanchflower, Greaves etc. Apart from Ardiles almost all Spurs greats were British.
I would say if you took out Peter Osgood and Chopper Harris, the best players to have played for us to date are foreign. Zola, Makalele, Di Matteo, Gullit, JFH etc.
You could say similar with Arsenal. Take out Liam Brady (who was Irish) and Tony Adams and you are left with a club who's legends are also from a similar era to ours but FOREIGN i.e Theirry Henry, Bergkamp, Kanu, Pires, Vieira etc

I totally agree with this .
The sporting media in this country are unbelievably cowardly and this constant attack on AVB is absolute proof of it.
Let them continue, it actually just makes them look more foolish by the day.
I think more and more people are waking up to the immense power and influence that the media has over the general public and the brainwashing tecniques they use.
I think more and more people can see through these kind of stories for what they are.
Utter bull.
In fairness to AVB you get the feeling he would never let someone else sack his coaching staff.
Ray would have beeen a lot safer with AVB I feel.
