I will be sure to write them an angry letter
"..I was left watching the scintillating football of QPR."

As opposed to the "scintillating" football of Everton.
MOTD burying our game somewhere in the middle of their running order was far worse in my opinion.
Still, Rooney scored twice at OT against the mighty Wolves, so no other team stood a chance of beating Man U to top billing.
To be honest, no network is going to 'have it in' for a team and deliberately not show their games.
The choice of which game they play will purely down to the whichever is the best deal for them in terms of the ratio of cost to attain the rights to popularity/viewing figures and resulting advertising revenue.
Darwin - then again if United, Chelsea, City and Arsenal are the most popular teams, they should have shown the Arsenal game along with the United game.
So you asked a billion people who they support?
Yeah but what I'm trying to say is that whatever their reason for choosing to air the Liverpool vs QPR match.... it's NOT because they've 'got it in' for Arsenal.
It'll be down to what deal they could strike, how much they paid for the rights, what kind of advertising revenue they could get.
These companies don't decide which games to show based on personal vendetta's or bias. It's a financial decision based on a number of factors that we're not even privy to. Nothing else.

Liverpool are obviously more watched than Arsenal
obviously Sid...what with their chances to score rate
Or with them being shown on TV
Darwin...
To be honest, Arsenal's recent failure to win a trophy didn't help to expand their global fans. And Gazidis is not doing to strike better financial deals either.
Who cares about ESPN, when you have p2p networks.
i loved the highlights of phil jones running around the pitch.
yep..super.
My local boozer (in Essex) show a live 3pm game & they had the Liv v QPR game on instead of Arsenal too.
Stop feeling sorry for yourself.
No, thunderkiss. First of all, the billion people or so don't watch football. Else it would be the largest football market in the world. I went on the basis of media outlets and analysts comments that these were the popular clubs.
Why don't you come on over here and survey a billion people, you moron.
Well that was kind of my point, you've asked a small sub-section who they support and have related it to the whole country. If I was asking people in Newcastle who they support I'd wonder why Newcastle weren't on tv every week.
Liverpool are obviously popular enough that more people would watch it than would watch Arsenal. Liverpool are a huge global brand, you're probably in a minority wondering why they're shown over your team
Thunderkiss - Do you even read before responding? I didn't ask anyone. I went on the basis of the media in India and sports analysts in India who are not a sub-section. In fact they would probably know more about who is popular in India than you or I. Hope you get this simple point
So when you wrote "Whatever Liverpool fans may say about their team, they are not very popular in India, according to folks here" you didn't actually go by any folks there?
Thunderkiss - obviously the media in India and sports analysts there are not folks. They are just machines. Right.
Also I understand you want Liverpool to be popular but I can't help you on that. I want Arsenal to win the quadruple but what is is. So chill and understand the comments or just move on in life.
Why would I want Liverpool to be popular? Seems more like you want Arsenal to be a global brand and have created a chelsea-esque conspiracy for why they aren't
Setanta Ireland showed the Man Utd game, and tend to show Utd and Scouse more often than the rest.
Also, the two channels the OP talks about are not just shown in India, but East Asia wide I believe.
Liverpool are still massively popular in the far East.
When I went to India for work they were going to show Arsenal Portsmouth (called off for waterlogged pitch) and then they showed Arsenal v Juventus.
I haven't posted in awhile but after reading some of these comments I feel I have to.
Arsenal are a very big brand in the US and other parts of the world. I find that whenever I meet International gooners they are true supporters who follow everything the team does and watch every game.
On the other hand people who claim to support united, Chelsea and Liverpool (I have yet to really meet any man c supporters but I'm sure it's coming sooner rather than later) these so called supporters never reall know much about their teams or what's going on with the team or the recent results. These are the glory hunters.
Well you'd have to be pretty dumb to be an Arsenal glory hunter
we're the ones who the media hate. dont forget that
Blackswan
So basically any overseas fans who follow Arsenal are real fans but those that follow any other team are glory hunters?

ESPN has got it in for Arsenal
