To be fair to Robbo, he can only stop so much

10 men on the pitch are not just there to score goals but to protect the keeper, I used to love Roques ability and desire to track back, Ok meant he was sometimes missing when a ball went long, but he put in some great tackles in our last third.

no Keeper can stop everything, same as no back four can stop everything getting through to the keeper, Midfield Must take pressure off the defence, what gets through then the defence take the pressure off the keeper, the 10% that get through both lines you hope the keepers can deal with, but not letting 60-70% through (those are just finger in air stats for the record!)

I'd have Holloway over Kean

I think you're being incredibly unfair on Blackpool!

Apparently in the 2nd half we had 20% possession...

Wrong about the keeper. Disappointed to see three defenders fall today (and Lowe - jesus wept )but defending comes from not giving total impetus to the other team. Unfortunately the Yak was a passenger in the second half when we needed someone to relieve the pressure.

Disappointed

How is the keeper having nightmare games?

Robbo pulled off 2 greats saves today. The first from point blank range from richardson, the second from the deflected shot in the 2nd half.

The second goal wasn't his fault. Larsson is the best set piece specialist in the league IMO. Look at his goal against arsenal.

Shows how poor we were then Wow, it could have been 4-1 then.

Can't do anything about the free kick, fair play to larsson.

lol, you are not a patch on blackpool. Blackpool took games to team attacked. Blackburn had 3 shots 2 on target to sunderland 23 and 5 on target and sunderland 68% possession to 32%.

Blackburn are just a worse version of newcastle just get results for poor play. I like teams like wolves wigan etc as they actually try to attack.

I take it you're basing your assessment purely on this game like a proper football purist. We've been ridiculously attacking this season which has been woefully disappointing!

You don't get points for pirouettes.

How are Man U looking in HD?

I supported man utd since I started to watch football aroiund 1996, then Peterborough since around 2004. Is it a crime to support 2 clubs?

Anyway its amazing that Darren Ferguson is the manager of Peterborough again. He has a similar philosophy to SAF in attacking football.

PieEater - Kean has 3 games to save himself... starting August! (U3479)
My older brother used to watch them and I just like the kit, how we played etc. I still them that overmars goal. Was so gutted after the 97-98 season.

posted on 12/12/11

meant to say I still remember that overmars goal.

Anyway that 98-99 season more then made up for the disappointment. We showed reserves not even todays barcelona would be able to show. The season was all about comebacks. I personally think SAF should make sure it doesn't go to the last day as he found out in the CL and west ham in the league etc or to chelsea in 2010 that trying to get the points none of this resting every now and again could be the difference. Rest once you have won the title or rest once you qualified from the group stage. SAF rested in the group stage home games and paid the price.
