Yeah, he's definitely pretty enough to.
He's definitely, definitely pretty enough to
He's definitely... oh fudge it.
He could very well go and do it, but I fear if he thinks about the record he may try too hard and miss out. It would be an unbelievable feat and would surely shut up all those 'Rooney is miles better than any other striker in the world' crew.

Nothing will shut those muppets up!
To answer the OP I think he will level it but not beat it

Rooney has more to his game than Van Persie. In fact he has so much more to his game that I am not going to explain it, I'm just going to filter you.

Rooney also has better hair...oh wait.
Rooney is a better left back than Clichy.

I think he'll do it within the next 3 games. He'll get 2 against City
It all comes down to whether you think we'll score in the remaining 4 games this season and if so, how many.
I'm certainly not of the opinion that we are a one man team, however if we're likely to score, chances are that Van Persie will be the guy doing it for us right now.
He will get them all at Middle East City on the weekend
I think VP should just get them all out of the way against City. Score 4, then he can just sit back and relax - just scoring one or two per game - until the New Year.
