Im sure there will be plenty of members come next season. Its always a bit slow during the summer.
R t M: This is what I am hoping too It's too good a site to go unnoticed....surely?
There are WUM's on all sites. Some of them are quite funny. Get over it.
I'd wait until start of season, 606 was quiet during off season sometimes
Morning Pool fans
Spurs fan here , it's a shame that the wums and spoilers seem to have so much influence on any forum........The only way to get rid of them is to ignore them when they post an article and delete them when they post on yours ....Unfortunately not enough people are prepared to do this so they just keep on coming back
This IMO is abut the best site going , yes there could be improvements but the designers have done a superb job considering the short time it's been going
As others have said the season is over and it's very quiet for that reason , give it 6 weeks and it will be buzzing..........
Yeah, we would ask people to reserve judgement on the site as it is just over a month old and still very much a work in progress. We are confident in what we are trying to achieve. The WUM problem on the Liverpool board is clearly an issue but it is something we need to we need to work on and a solution will take a few weeks.

I see you have got the "remember me" feature up on the log in page ....makes things a lot easier
Kenny, re the promotion, we are happy at the rate at which the site is growing in terms of members, typically somewhere in the region of 50-100 members per day. We have seen clubs smaller than Liverpool come alive when there is actual tangible football activity.
Admin1: Just to be clear, my 'rant' wasn't about the quality of the site at all.....just the volume of traffic, which probably magnifies the Wumming and associated articles.
Am prepared to give it more time, at least some way into next season and truly hope you (we) get traction as imo, you've done a great job here....but to keep us on the hook, so to speak, is there any chance that you can update us on the growth in traffic every week/fortnight/month? Appreciate that you may not want to give actual no's (% would do) but there's nothing like a little self-promotion to both keep you current users loyal and perhaps generate a little 'word-of-mouth' marketing....just a thought.
newWAYNEorder ,
A sad illustration of how a wum shouldn't operate. No humour, no wit just abrasive insults interspersed with remedial level pictures.
Where have all the good wums gone?
admin1: you beat me to it!
Thanks
For 'remember me' read 'keep me logged in'. We won't count you in the members online unless you are posting.
King, the traffic stats are being kept private due to the numerous sites are currently vying out out for a slice of the old 606 pie. A good indication is site activity which if you go to 'Football' and select order by 'last commented' it should show you the roughly the number of comments per min. We recently broke through ten comments per min, at certain points during the week.
The remember function works well for me on my iPhone. The site is a little quite at times but nowhere near as quite as some of the others. This is the best site I have used and well done to all who worked hard putting it together.
As far as the WUMs go I feel the same as the OP. A filter function for users would be good. Ops could ban who they don't like on their discussions. But in general they can also add a bit of spice.
ARE(U3402), the frustration for us is of course we can't wave a wand and have a feature appear on the site straight away. There is always a delay and a few sleepless nights between the need for something and it actually appearing on the site.
You could always give the ability to add users to a list of blocked users for each profile. So when a user creates an article those people on the "blocked list"wont have the ability to comment.
That seemed too easy....I must've read that somewhere.
Admin1: Understood.
Just one other point; more a 'heads-up' really. I use a work internet connection from home or sometimes abroad; I try to log on to JA606 every day but at least 50% of the time the site is 'restricted' (mobile work internet restricts the obvious; filth, gambling, etc)....No idea why, never had this problem with bbc606...I would imagine that this may restrict some younger members if their parents have set up parental control etc
Yeah, that is an issue all non BBC forums have. The BBC site was a trusted domain.
RTM, that will also be part of our feature.
Admin1: ok....but any idea why it allows it one day and not the other?
Surely on the basis of an IP address 'repeat offenders' could just be simply banned?
The Admin's obviously know who all the naughty boys are so just deny access from their IP address
There have been a few days where a handful of clowns have been ruining every thread on the board.
The work filter will be inspecting the content, and if content looks like 'gambling' eg a fixture with odds or something stupid like that it might just throw it out. Will be some form of fuzzy logic behind it.
k_k_king, instead of whining, why not create some thoughtful, intelligent, debate-promoting threads, join in with other similar threads, and completely ignore the WUMTIES?
Even by putting this thread up, all you're actually doing is showing the WUMs that they have an effect on you, and that will only encourage them to keep on doing what they do.
Yes last chance, that is something we have done a couple of times. We don't like kicking people off the site, but persistant wummery will likely end in an ip ban.
