If, if, if. What Utd did was continually get results to make sure they were the masters of their own fortunes. Bad teams like Wigan and Spurs relied on the teams above them not being good enough to pull away.

Spurs had more than enough chances to make 4th yet rely on Wigan to try and beat an in form Arsenal side at the Emirates. They only have themselves to blame for not keeping that points gap intact.
