Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has pledged to make the club’s new stadium in Tottenham a reality, stating: “Failure is not an option.”

Levy's comments get me excited

Pleased to see it moving forward, and pleased that Levy is in control of it all, though I will have to admit to being a little upset that in the future I can no longer claim to be an owner of Spurs as my shares will be bought out, but all for the greater good. (Best thing about that was the fact that I could always refer to the club and 'we' when confronted about that grammer useage could say Im a shareholder).

(for those that are interested, in 12 years I only got two dividends (and I forgot to cash one of those in) so the money hasn't been flowing out the club to shareholders).

We need the stadium asap (within reason obviously, not risking ruining the club), we need the stadium to match the teams ambition. Otherwise the great crop we currently have could end up being the best we can expect for a while, extra funds are needed for players etc.

I am confident in Levy and the way the club has come in his time here, its being run much better than before and it's pleasing to say that.

Will always call it White Hart Lane though, Lets hope a very rich company called White Hart sponsers it....

I like Levys strong words

The preperation is in place for the stadium we just need some funding from the sounds of it!

The West Stand will become the South Stand from looking at the plans

What does Dave think of this?

Will the stadium take 3 years to build, or is that the figure for the stadium and the surrounding Tottenham areas?

I remember when the FIRST plans for the new stadium came out, they had a 2 year deadline on the building work although the plans have very much changed since then

It looks like the stadium has moved closer to the High Rd, doesn't it? I thought it was all going to be built with only the North Stand getting knocked down, whilst we're still playing there.

From reading the plans, they will build all stands bar the south stand and then complete that during the summer proir to moving into the stadium

I'm not the best for understanding the markets etc.

I believe its a compulasry (sp?) purchase meaning that I am forced to sell the shares back to Spurs.

Don't know when that takes place (guess I'll get some post when that does (I'll post whatever is said on here if people are interested), or how much I'll get to be honest (is it market value, or above?)

Personally though I only have 200 shares (bought in 1998, so they were worth a lot more back then) I'd be happy if Spurs sent out a certificate saying I was a shareholder that I could keep so I can still claim it, and they could keep my £120 and use it towards the cost. Its not much, but I'd still like to say that I am a part of the club rather than just a fan.

Nomadic

Not at the moment, but as a club I would expect us to do something because at the moment its a bit shocking!

31 Moments - I would have a look into it, my Dad got a letter from Spurs around 10 days ago i think...he only has a small amount of shares anyway (Was a Birthday present)

I think each share is worth around 70p, but i may have that wrong

So they're buying the shares to bulk sell the shares to fund the project?

I think we should also start to looking into who we honor outside the stadium with statues (that actually look like the person), obviously Bill Nicholson should be there, but who else?

I personally would like to see a large one (perhaps more half sculpture half wall thing (like a 3d type thing on a stand) of the 61 team. I wouldnt mind seeing one of the 1901 FA Cup team as well celebrating the time we first won something (and the fact that that record will never be beaten).

If you have been to OT you would have seen the front where they have a massive banner across the front with players from old and new! with statues outside the ground!..

Billy Nich 100%, he is what Tottenham is today

RRP - I have a bad habit of never opening my post (thats why won of the dividends went uncashed - opened it three years too late) do most things online and ignore the post unless its something that I know is coming or ordered.

Will have to go back and check.

As for the transport thing, couldnt we buy some land closeby and introduce a park and ride type thing? Its not the best admittedly but it could help.

I walk up from Seven Sisters (pubs along the way) so I have never really had a problem with getting to and from the ground.

I tend to walk quickly as well so get to the tube before most (never leave early either), but don't know how bad it is for people fighting it out on the roads or the overground trains.
