The thing is, in all seriousness I think Barton has ingredients that Arsenal lack. And in a top team I think Barton could excel.

However, he'd be a mightily unpopular signing, not many groups of fans warm to Barton's character.

For the record I find it very difficult to blieve Wenger would actually want to manage Joey Barton (maybe I'm wrong). Wenger looks at the personality of a player as much as he does the playing attributes!

When's the last time you have a player in your squad with a 'tasche?

Barton is probly a player that we could do with however he has too much bagage with his past and I don't think Arsene or Arsenal will take that risk but we could do with someone who battles in the midfield and will not be pushed around.

All joking aside, Barton does seem to have cleaned up his act an awful lot. I think he could be your Denis Wise, and do very well.

Yes but if you "wiki" Andy Carroll and look at his misdemeanours -

No.5 discipline

- and see who Liverpool signed.

Lets face it, Arsene keeps moaning about alleged bully-boy tactics, maybe he thinks he needs some steel in his team to counteract that?

Plus, as for comparisons, I can't see Barton running away, bricking himself, from anyone, even Roy Keane, in the tunnel -

Can he prevent power-shift happening in north London?

It's been a long time since Arsenal had an out and out dirty player. Sure, you've had your fair share of divers, but that's more in the "cheat" or "sneak" bracket. I'm now talking about out and out dirty players, ones who purposely go in to hurt other players and to spark rucks. Joey Barton's your man for that.

Could this be a sign of a shift in tactics from Arsene? A move from pretty play to dirty dealings?

Can he stamp on opposition players chest..?

Question is, can he link defence with attack with his brilliant sideways passing like Denilson?

Does this loser ever leave the Arsenal board?

Can he take Arsenal from a top 4 team, to the title?

Can he help them end the 6 year silverware drought?

I would welcome Barton, the Arsenal team is full of cats, mentally weak and don't like to get stuck in. Just imagine Wilshere and Barton in the midfield against the likes of Stoke, would be sweet to really f them up.

Can't wait till wenger tries to force some dodgy yellow liquid drink on him and barton flips, blackening wengers eyes in the ensuing carnage.

Mickey Quinn said on Talksport that he had heard on the grapevine that Arsenal have definitely made an approach for Barton.

To be honest, footballing wise it would be fascinating to see. I know he's despised by many (Barton, not Quinn) and there are reasons for that. But Barton actually is a very good footballer and not just the sh!tkicker he's made out to be.

Anyway, personally I really don't believe the rumours and as pasionate as Micky Quinn is about the game, I'll take his comments like I always do, with a big bucket of salt!

The trouble is, if we did sign him he would probably stub his cigar out in Diaby's eye, Eboue would come to the rescue but it would be too late!

Not worried about it at all. The ball is in our court and for now there is no indication we're going to sell him.

u should be worried because he wants out like Cesc, and u cant stop a players leaving.

The big difference is that Modric has been "public" about his intentions to leave. Fabregas hasn't!

I'm no Spurs fan but I think the way Modric has behaved is nothing short of outrageous....

Chelsea will be rubbing their hands together! Contracts are not worth the paper they are written on when players seem to have a blatant disregard for the people who pay their wages. Least of all taking into account the fans who ultimately line their pockets.

So, you believe what you've read in the gutter press? Because that's the only place this has been reported. The gutter press.

This is the same press that is saying half your squad is leaving, including Nasri to United and Fab to Barca for £30 million.

So, yeah, you're right. It's all true
