We really hope so Mirf !!

The problem is Mirf that we were very poor and you won't understand that because all you see is your stats and the fact that we're "in a better position than we were last season".

We finished 2nd last season, we're currently 4th, surely if anything we've gone backwards so far despite what the points column says? You keep saying 97 points will guarantee us at least 2nd spot but with every passing week that is seeming less likely. Points, unbeaten records or any other stats aren't important to me like they are to you, I just love this club and want us to get out of this awful league.

I respect your opinion when you give it, but more often than not you don't give your opinion, you either give the opinion of a radio commentator because you weren't there or just spout useless stats which have no actual relativity.

Cas , we finished 3rd last year, & Mirf states 87 points not 97..................... are you having a

Touche my friend, typing while watching MOTD2, not concentrating, but you get my point!

Of course, I think Mirf gets a bit sick of all the negativity on here, We just need promotion

I genuinely don't see myself as negative, I'm especially not negative when actually at matches, anyone there yesterday might have seen "CASTLE-9" in the upper tier being told to sit down constantly in the 2nd half as I tried to get us going from the stands!

Mirfs problems is that he can't see that all Town fans won't simply accept 2nd best, I want to see Town actually achieve something in my lifetime other than a poxy unbeaten run which doesn't count for nothing and in all honesty wasn't even true!

We all want the same things...and it's all down to Deano and LC to deliver it. They probably want it as much, if not more than we do...the only question we all debate is whether LC is the man or not.

I'm in the group of doubters, mainly because if he 'had it', he'd have got us up at the first attempt...like other managers who 'have it'. ...and at his second attempt he didn't do it...now it's 3rd attempt....you know what I mean...

All we can do is hope and pray, praise and moan...and discuss...after all, it's 'only' football isn't it !

Arroloui, that's what I meant, I want top 2 which I consider best and then the playoffs I think of as second best!

Cas,

You need to distinguish the difference between Stats and Facts. Everything I've pointed out earlier are actual facts and you can't argue about any of them, because they tell us exaclty what we have achieved so far this year in terms of goals scored, conceded and points won.

The plain facts are that we have played 21 games and collected 39 points in the process, which is 7 points better than last season at the same stage. So no one can deny that approaching the half way stage we are in a stronger position this season than last and we can now kick on and stake our claim for auto promotion.

Six points from the next couple of games will see us sitting pretty on 45 points at the halfway stage, which only a point short of where Clarky wants us to be.

Okay I'll give you that but they are minor facts which in my opinion disguise a bigger picture. We finished with 87 points and that is fact, but what is also fact is that we finished 3rd and therefore missed out on promotion. It is also fact that we have accrued more points than last season, but the more important fact is that we are 4th in the table and 9 points from 1st place.

It could well be a fact at the end of the season that we have accrued 10 whole points more than last season, but that will not equal success unless it is enough to see us into the automatic promotion places. So I will give you your facts, but those facts simply do not equal success and are incomparable to the hard and unfortunately harsh facts which outweigh them.

we scored 4 good goals to get a draw!!

we let in 4 absoulute shockers... the 50 yard free kick where the bloke walks into our box and has a free back header will go down in history as the easiest goal ever scored against people who get paid to defend in football matches..

counting on rhodes or one other to have a very, very good day isnt a good plan..

we played wendies, but to be honest it might have been a 4 all draw against chesterfield and may well end up being so if we defend like that again.. remember both centre halves scored in "open play" against us..

Brentford (4-4) was a stark warning about our inability to defend. Ok last game of the season...but conceding 4 goals at home was a warning...unheeded as it happened as we let in a further 3 in the next home game..then a further 3 in the next match.

We shouldn't make the same mistake again, and ignore it. LC needs to recognise where we need strengthening and end his love in with PC.
