Does he also write for the Daily Mail and the Sun?

Says it all really -

That the conversation took place in Spanish, and not English, also affects the issue. Yes, it was on English soil, so people will say that the meaning of the word in our language only applies here. Ignorance of the law is no defence, but as the conversation took place in Spanish, then surely the nuances in Spanish (and in particular, the Uruguayan dialect) have to come into play. Or so I’d have thought. The reason Suarez admitted to saying it, and has been surprised at the verdict, was because he felt it wasn’t used with racial overtones. I’m sure Liverpool thought they’d proved that.

If this is true then I think the club will appeal, despite the rarity of appeals being overturned in football.

Leeds Fan in peace - Not very common i can imagine!

Just want to offer my condolences to all liverpool fans RE: Suarez.

Complete double standards by the FA. It'll be interesting to see how John Terry gets on today.

I cant imagine how your season is going to pan out without such an influential figure.

Will it cost you a place in Europe?

Anyways, good luck with the rest of the season and fingers crossed you give s(umchester a good rollicking later on this season!

You sit down in the championship little boys, don't get involved in bigger club matters

Doesn't matter if he's racist or not. You can't punish someone for being racist. People have the right to hold whatever beliefs they want. It's when, how and if they choose to express those beliefs. You can and should punish people for using racial insults.

I don't think John Terry is racist. He grew up in one of the most muti-cultural cities in the world and works in one of the most racially and culturally diverse industries in the country.

I don't think he beileves one race is better than another or would discriminate against someone based on the colour of their skin. Same with Suarez and 99% of people in genaral.

But racially based insults, or insults refering to race aren't acceptable in modern britian. On a football pitch or anywhere else. If people come to live and work here they should live by our rules. As we would if we lived in their country.

Is your small emmerdale club too proud to win it? We've won the most FA cups in the country, and we've got 4 carling cups. How many domestic trophies do you have?

1. You have more money than us
2. Bigger Fan base
etc etc
A team like manchester united are supposed to beat a team like Leeds United at the moment. Just like when we had a better team in the early noughties, you could barely touch us! You had to prize Rio and Smith off us.

I came here to offer support to Liverpool followers, not get into banter with United fans.

God Bless Man City!

EIGHT GAMES? What the?

That's ridiculous in a case where there is so much potential doubt. I don't for one moment condone racism but if you're going to charge someone with it you have to be ABSOLUTELY certain there's a case and I'm not sure that's true here.

It's not sensible to hold a 'trial' like this unless you KNOW, not think, KNOW what he meant by his words AND that the player himself was aware of the cultural differences involved. I feel sorry for Suarez in particular and Liverpool in general. This is basically the FA doing it's best to be seen to be DOING SOMETHING when in fact they've gone off half cocked and made one hell of a mess in what was already a difficult situation.

Spot on peterpiper!

1 game or 8, the punishment is arbitrary anyway. For a man of mixed race to be branded a racist when he is not must be horrendous.

hluck and LPP, thanks for the support

LPP, I agree totally. I've been saying this for weeks. Intent has to be proven and I don't think it has been. I'm not saying there was no intent. I just think its impossible to prove either way without a confession of intent, which obviously hasn't been given otherwise there would be no point in even considering an appeal.

Saw David Davies on the BBC and it seems to me that the FA's prime motive is simply to show how far ahead they are of Uefa and FIFA on the issue.

Arab Manc is by far the biggest idiot on this site. He spouts pure bile all the time and offers nothing constructive to any debate. The stuff he was coming out with last night was verging on extremist. He is a disgrace and a coward who hides behind his keyboard and I can't believe he's still on this site.

You'll have to expand on that captain. Spouting trite platitudes doesn't add much to a complex debate. If you can't make any constructive comments maybe best to keep quiet.

Captain, what's your view on Evra in this case. He apprently has admitting insulting Suarez in Spanish and it is also reported that he said to the ref that he was only booking him because he was black.

If these thing are true what do you think his ban should be?
