Your last sentence sums it up ... To be honest after the diabolical performance against Liverpool it was the least the fans deserved .. However no points and 5 defeats in 6 says everything ... Stoke & Chelsea follow and i dont see any points in either of these games .. 1 good performance in 10 just isnt good enough
I had a feeling Villa would put in a good performance and Arsenal would struggle after the City defeat.
Happy with a win, worried about the Christmas period as our back ups are off form and the starters are looking tired.
Felt the second yellow for Hutton was justified, but haven't seen it on MOTD yet...
Just seen it on MOTD. How can you say that didn't deserve a second yellow??
Poor tackle by an awful player, definite yellow, even Phil Dowd would have had to give that decision.
If any yellow should be moaned about it was RvPs. Inept decision by the ref.
I have since removed that bit about hutton. It did deserve yellow. Didnt see the first yellow. Thought the ref have an instant red initially.
Semper, I thought I had gone mad after I posted the second comment. Re-read the article and nothing about the red . Glad I wasn't going mental!
The first yellow was for dissent I think, so a bit hard to judge if it was justified. I think Hutton lost his head, though.
Got the impression that overall it was our best match of the season, in spite of losing. Could the absence of Collins be the reason? Dunne seems a much better player with Carlos alongside. The team looked much better balanced, and matched or bettered Arsenal for possession, which is no mean feat. And for the next match we'll have the bonus of no Hutton.
Not sure Gabby was at his most effective though. Thoughts? I'm not sure he's at his best alone up front, which is why I'd have stuck Delfouneso there and not played Ireland.
