no, why?

Welbeck is much better
Just watch his performance yesterday

Sturridge does score some beauties though.
But Welbeck is a much better player.

Who cares? Both good players.

does he? haven't seen many from outside the 6 yard box tbh. sturridge is more comparable to hernandez while welbeck is like a hard working, pacy berbatov

They're both good players but both different if you asked most premier ship defenders who they'd rather face welbeck would definitely get most the votes.

check out some of the goals he scored for Bolton last season...

Both decent but no Heskey.

posted on 22/12/11

Wellbeck has not got the same skill level as berbatov can't see any similarities between the two myself.

Also sturridge is playing out wide as opposed to Hernandez who leads the line so the only similarity between them two is the 'tap in'. Sturridge does more defensively and is more involved in the build up play for Chelsea.

Two good young players personally if I had the choice of one to join Liverpool I'd pick sturridge but would not be unhappy to have wellbeck in our squad either, he's decent.

welbeck's link up play was brilliant as usual yesterday and sturridge has just lost the ball again

A pacy, hard-working Berbatov?

Thats like the Ultimate Striker...

Bit of a silly arguement really as theyre both good. could see Sturridge being a better goal scorer. Really happy about welbecks progress though, and he is a Manc and could be seen as a bit of a representative of the new Manchester as theres a big West African community there now

Its one of those where United fans will say Welbeck and Chelsea fans will say Sturridge. Looking at it objectively, there's not much between them at all.

One thing's for sure though, they are both better than Caroll.

I think you meant to laugh at his value being £35mil, as £35 is actually a reasonable estimate now.

Yes

Welbeck is a very good player but sorry Sturridge looks special to me. Would absolutely love him at Arsenal.

posted on 22/12/11

I dont think you can say Sturridge looks special and say Welbeck doesn't. There is also a 2 year age different. Danny Welbeck wil be the better player and have the better career IMO.

" There is also a 2 year age different."

It shows.

One thing is for sure, with these two as our future strikers for england, it looks very promising!

based on what exactly? have you actually seen both players play or are you just looking at goalscoring stats? honestly i haven't been impressed by sturridge he just scores tap ins, is very greedy and lacks a footballing brain imo whereas welbeck is the most gifted and intelligent striker england have produced since rooney

posted on 22/12/11

Welbeck is the first striker we've had in ages that allows Rooney to drop back or get forward as welbeck can also play in both slots. That's what makes us so fluid in attack when they play together.
Welbeck really has got everything and I don't know why the media aren't all over him but I'm glad they're not, also if you count the 3 onside goals that were ruled out welbeck scored against qpr and the game before the scorin stats aren't too dissimilar this season.

"based on what exactly?"

Plays more matches, scores more goals, creates more chances, great link up player.
