........several more weeks until we are at our best.........

Either crazy or wildly optimistic!
Maynard will move in January. We need more than to rely on other team's weaknesses. At present I don't really think there are many teams as poor as us.
As long as SC continues to watch different performances to the rest of us, we will flounder.
Billy Sharpe and Nicky Maynard are both outstanding players, and I can't see either Donny or Bristol CIty cashing in on them in January, because if they do, they will find themselves in a similar position to us; heading into a relegation battle without a goalscorer. I don't rate Alan Shearer's punditry highly, but one thing he did say recently that rings true is "if you have a goalscorer, you have a chance".
Maynard has been given permission to talk to other clubs, after talks with Bristol City broke down.
We get the chances, but just lack a prolific striker and have done for a number of seasons. Rely far too heavily on 'support' strikers and midfielders. Bleak.
Such doom and gloom. We have generally played very well under SC, bar a couple of poor performances. Keep it up and we will start winning games soon.

Call me crazy, but, I have come to terms with our fate this season and I have decided to just enjoy the battle to avoid the drop. Like it or not, it's still quite interesting !
-------------------------------------------------------------------
i know what you mean
i don't think there's a hope in hell of us surviving, the squad will be depleted further in the transfer window and doughtys revenge for the fans not kissing his rrse even after we all became wise to the extent of his lies will be complete.
league one will be a blessing in disguise if it hastens the departure of the vermin that run our club
Stop being defeatest.
While there is a chance there is hope.
If we were dire allover (EG as per Leeds game) then i'd agree. There isn't much wrong.
We just need the luck.
We just need the luck.
____________
Or a decent manager.
We should be a class above the likes of Doncaster
Bristol City Watford Millwall. That's not arrogant or any thing against them. All have been rightfully better in the pretty recent past.
It's about talent in the squad at this moment. All this rubbish about luck and not losing hope. We shouldn't need to hoping we don't go down because if the manager was doing his job we'd be sat comfortably midtable.
But the manager can't play centre forward
Billy had plenty of luck until he boobed in the playoffs by not picking a left back when we had one fit or playing an attacking midfielder in s defensive role when it wasn't necessary

He is. It's the players that aren't scoring, not the manager.

______
Right so Billy is a bad manager that got lucky (but messed up in the end) Cotterill is a good manager who's unlucky. Rubbish.
I didn't say Billy Davies is a bad manager. Stop trying to be clever, when you are obviously not.
Cotterill has us playing good football. As I have previously stated, I'm was not a big fan of his appointment. I am impressed however at the style we are playing and see nothing wrong that a striker could not solve. Unfortunately, our strikers are not doing the business for him.
We now have injusries too but at least he still has the team fighting for points. Last weekend being a big example.
If we were playing badly, I might tend to agree, but we aren't.
sutton? Do you go to games or sit at home listening to the radio?
Dougherty's not looking for revenge. He simply recognises that in order to make his 12 years at look good, the next 14 have to be far, far worse.
If we were playing badly, I might tend to agree, but we aren't.
_________
I'm not sure where this we're playing well stuff has come from. We may have been slightly the better side in a couple of poor games. Sides that are playing well tend to win more than 1 in 7.
If your impressed by cotterill I'd say it's you that's obviously not that bright. But I won't because unlike the rest of you, up on the moral high ground. I'm here to put a point of view forward, not get personal.

I've had a season ticket for 12 years now. I don't get away that often.
You already got personal with me a few weeks ago by calling me an idiot
Maybe we should stop replying to each others post as I have an opinion and just because it doesn't match yours, I am on a moral high ground????
We will not be changing manager and therefore support his cause. That being, to win us games.
I've had a season ticket for 12 years now
----------------------------------------------
It's a shame you wasn't part of the pre-Clough era.
Matt Gilles and Allen Brown would of given you plenty to moan about. More than Megson, Kineer or even Platt
We've made chances, 60-40% possessions our way, and despite dire results moral is still higher than when he arrived. Theres not much more to ask from a manager, especially when none of our players any would call 'prolific' in their given states. We've seen in the last few games goalies on top of their form, balls inches pass the post when beating the keeper, and frantic clearances off the line. When it comes to two of these its just down to hard luck and on another day those would have gone in. All that can be really done is changing the 'inches from the post' to the 'inside the net'.
Gotta agree though, this is a must win game. Not for the sake of cotterrils job, but morally. After player well in most games for the last month and to only get one point out of it, a loss in the same fashion would really echo a "what's the point".

he can,
he was a half decent premier league striker for wimbledon and is probably still better than mcgoldrick
