We need Hoillett or someone similiar as back up for Lennon IMO, when we play Modric or VDV on the right it doesn't work
As for Chelsea you can't teach an old dog new tricks, they're back to playing defensive counter attack football, what happened to the high line and passing game

When someone is injured it's best to put someone similar in his place then change shape, it messes with the team.
I'd give Giovani a run out against Norwich.
BAE either needs a rest or a wake-up call so Rose at LB.
Walker has pace. Put him RM and bring in Corluka back?
BAE is having his seasonal bad patch, start Rose against Norwich to give him a kick up the backside.

You sure? I thought it was more AVB thinking aloud 'Oh feck...my team are older than the blokes in Cocoon and everyone hates me....let's revert to the José way like EVERY fookin manager since'
Something like that.
--------------
that's right AVB though pooh me, that's go back to 4-3-3 with Drogba up top just like erm.....Mournhio in 2004. Stuff playing with style like the mighty Spurs.
I think Rose deserves a game over Christmas I'd bring him in Norwich but wouldn't want to make more than three changes. In my team I rest Parker but I can't see Harry doing that.
Modric or VDV on the right it doesn't work
-----------------------
Modric is not in the game enough at right midfield. VDV has no pace to run back and against good sides it costs us like Arsenal and Chelsea
Playing with style got your team fatigued after 20 minutes

Playing a high line when you have Bale is a smart thing to do
Our high line was incredible, I remember a moment when Sandro was the only guy in our half
in the 2nd half we should have played 3 at the back, Walker and Bale as wing backs. Sandro as 3rd centre back, with Kranjcar on for Ekotto. playing with Modric and Parker in the middle.
we were far to stale until last 10 minutes during the 2nd half, other than Bale we had no pace. Walker and Bale would have given us a more balanced look and caused Chelsea different problems
Some shopping definitely needs to be done in January if Harry won't trust some of the younger wingers when Bale and/or Lennon aren't fit.
Walker did a frankly stunning job running the right flank by himself last night without ever getting caught out because of his runs forward, but we can't expect him to do that every time Lennon is injured. I know Modric performs far better when he's running the centre of midfield, but if Harry's going to deploy him on the right he needs to be told to stay there and not go wandering. He's pacy and tricky enough that he would have something decent to contribute on the wings if we're in trouble with injuries

I agree with the team in principle but Townsend couldn't do anything on the right against PAOK - as soon as Harry switched him to the left he worked wonders.
Also, Defoe's injured, no? I say we play...
Walker--Kaboul--Gallas--Rose
Kranjcar--Livermore--Sandro--Bale
---------------Modric
------------------Ade
i say we play 4-3-3 with sandro, parker and modric making up the midfield three. They did reasonably well against chelsea.
Friedel
Walker Gallas Kaboul BAE
Sandro parker modric
Giovani Ade Bale
King will most likely not play as he played midweek. Gio and Bale can swap flanks with modric playing centrally behind threading through the passes. Lots of creativity in that team whilst maintaing a solid defensive approach with parker and sandro
why would we play Gio. total waste of space, carp against Shamrock and everytime i see him.
would rather play Rose or Townsend. Gio will be off in the Window anyway
Think we should look at Blackburn's Hoilet & Samba in January. Possible bid for Cahill if Samba not to our taste.
We definitely need cover for Lennon & Bale, Townsend is certainly worth giving a run out.
