Must admit, Im a big fan of wahab. Personally, i'd have him ahead of Gul in the pecking order. He has genuine pace and can reverse swing the old ball - although i doubt he'll get a start if paks play with 2 spinners. His pace and swing did england over last year at oval (flat track) and he has shown during the world cup in india what he can do on flat wickets..... Does blow hot and cold at times though!!
I think he is decent. One of them, a bit like a Siddle or Ishant, who if he gets oit right, will really turn it on.
Wahab's the quickest bowler we have in the squad, though there are quicker bowlers on the domestic scene.
You say "On those decks". Wahab was constantly hitting 90+ at the World Cup, anyone remember his ball to Yuvraj?
Agree Amir, if anyone is going to have an effect with pace on those pitches, its going to be wahab........ Having said that, I dont see pakistan changing tact and leaving out Gul, which is fair enough considering our performances in the last few months......Unless, we just go with hafeez and ajmal as spinners?
Gul has actually been performing, if you look at his numbers. Before the Bangladesh series I think in 6 matches he had taken 30 odd wickets. His performances don't stand out as much in a Test, than an ODI.
I wouldn't drop Rehman, the guy doesn't deserve it. He's played well, could prove to be a suprising factor for us v England. I think we need pace, Riaz has to play for that reason. Who gets dropped? Not Gul because he has this nack of getting a wicket in the first over, none of the spinners, so that leaves, Cheema.

Cheema gets dropped anyway, for Junaid. So where does wahab come into play, if you want him in the team? I think junaid performed well against lanka to justify a place, and if your saying gul also stays put....... then wahab must stay on the bench handing out towels and drinks....
