We were top on Bobby's birthday but I don't remember anyone harping on about it.
We also beat potential top four candidates Wigan 3-0 without any dodgey penalties or sending offs, but I don't remember much fuss.
We drew at Anfield despite having a player sent off on Bobby's birthday. Fans of some clubs think having a player dismissed is a valid excuse for shipping 5 goals.
Actually I'm not sure why I'm even entertaining Hafijur tonight after this belter he came out with last night..
"I don't think silva is actually that good as he can't dribble past players, hes only good at passing to the frontmen and scoring the odd goal. I reckon nani would have ronaldo stats if he was at city but luckily mancini is not a top manager even though silva thinks otherwise."
This comment made me think:
"If Fergie can outwit a team costing over £500 million, that will be amongst his finest achievements."
I was wondering how he could possibly outwit us. In the only game in which he's had any control over the scoreline, he was utterly mauled. So, unless Tags has been having words with refs, other managers or the FA, there's no way he could take credit for our slip-ups. Especially considering that the only way United will be top for New Year is because they've played a game more than us.
And no, it's not pointless bitching on my part. United fans said the same of us when we were top at New Year having played more matches.
Of course when talking about money spent you should always completely disregard the sale of players funding purchases as that brings Uniteds spending down below a good few clubs as they have under Ferguson sold well to cover future spending. In the time City have blown a few hundred million United have spent barely anything and even this season could finish top of the tree.

The op comes across very bitter! Very bitter indeed.

Not true, if we get a 7-0 win against blackburn we beat them 7-1 last year I know its unlikely but e have 2 5-0's recently why not 7-0 and lets say Man city win by 1 goal we will be top on same games played.

Assuming that we're going by the Gregorian calendar, United will be top going into the New Year even if they draw by virtue of the fact they will have played a game more than City.

Probably because they're a better team than you, mate.

As proven in the recent Derby and our respective league positions.

As usual, you're putting two and two together and getting the net result of the square root of seven. United will be on top of the league going into 2012 by having played one more game than us - we don't play again till January 1st.
This article looks rather silly now.
I love these articles, wish I could find the one that suggested our title challenge was over after we drew at West Brom.

Devoid of logic and unsure of whether they are suicidal through a lack of flair, or delighted because they are truly MASSIVE. Perfect analogy.
