Could be quite a busy window for us come to think of it
Falque is still with us (as of 2.41pm)...not sure when he will get a chance to play now we are out of the Europa League though
14 59- Oreo Romeu,
Spurs will bottle it.
================
Spurs will never be Top 4 at Xmas.
Or be the leading London club.
Never, ever, ever.
Whilst we are perhaps lacking slightly in squad depth up front I keep thinking If we did bring in a top striker this January window who would we drop this season to accommodate said striker?
I wouldn't want to drop Adebayor or Defoe, both have impressed me this season.
Would we swap ditch 451 and shift to 442, if so where would VDV fit in?
TBK Falque has looked okay, not ready yet for the PL though
Super - IMO its time to start replacing Defoe, never does anywhere near enough for me and doesn't seem to be in Harry's plans! We wont be able to keep Ade, so lets bring in a striker now who can get a few months of PL under his belt ready to step in next season when Ade leaves
RRP,
I agree.
Its the law of Sod. If we dont finish high enough, Ade wont want to join us permanently. And if we do finish as high as we think we can, City wont sell him to us.
Chicken - I dont just think its our PL finish which will decide if Ade stays or not, can you really see him or any player wanting to reduce their wages by some 75%? I wouldn't expect him too, why would he? Our only hope is that he is enjoying his football so much he would want to stay at any cost
The difference is when Adebayor dries up like he did earlier,we have other players who can step up and score eg Bale,Van Der Vaart and Defoe so im not very worried if he has another dry patch to be perfectly honest.
We should go for... you ready... get ready... it's going to be amazing... ME!!
RRP-I agree Defoe is not perfect but I think he' s a very useful player to have. I was pretty critical of him last year but he worked hard and it shows, he's looked a lot sharper so far this season. He does frustrate me sometimes with his selfishness and lack of passing. I think ultimately though his unhappiness about being on the bench may limit his Spurs future and I expect him to go. Some teams will still readily have him he should get us a nice sum.
Its a shame if we can't keep Ade, he's been hugely impressive despite his finishing being pretty woeful at times.
If we assume that this will be the last season for these 2 and Pav and Gio at Spurs we must be looking at buying no fewer than 3 strikers
The question of who we'll go for is interesting...Ba anyone?
Doo Doo's - We cant afford your wages
Super - Im still not a very big Defoe fan, never has been that 15-20 goal a season man we need...and he isn't a team player, as i have always said when he doesn't score he never offers anything, at least Ade brings everyone into play ..but he does look sharper this season, but thats not saying much after last season!
I was too scared to say we need 3 strikers coming in..but we do ...Never replaced Keane and Crouch, Pav and Gio should be off and Ade is only on loan
I would quite like to see us go for Cisse from Freiburg
sea-the-stars,
I dont think its Ade's goalscoring we'll miss, as such. Its his ability to bring others into goal scoring positions. Take Bale's 1st goal against Norwich for example, he probably had little chance of shooting but still twisted & turned until he could lay it off to Bale, who then got himself in an equally dangerous position.
Thats a side of his game i never knew he had.
RRP-There was an article today linking us to Cisse, his stats seem fairly good but I've never seen him play so no idea. I'd like us to try and go for Podolski but it seems unlikely
Super
Podolski = Poor man's Crouch.

I have been watching Cisse for the last 2 seasons on the Bundesliga highlights over on ESPN...hits me as a quicker, bigger and stronger Defoe...major upgrade
Podolski-Poor mans Crouch
Surely he can't be that bad!
