Feeling the pressure?

I don't know why he would leave for Cíteh though. I mean he's won an FA Cup and Charity Shield at Arsenal which is more than Cíteh have won in the past 35 years.

Batman it's because he wants to win something else before he retires, he can't even win the Emeriates cup at Arsenal

"Batman it's because he wants to win something else before he retires,"

Like I said if he leaves us he will have his sights set on bigger and better honors than the Channel 5 trophy. He's been there and done that

When we win the league and ASrsenal finish 6th we'll just get RVP on a Bosman, like you say he wont be interested in the Channel 5 Cup.

Such as?

Challenge for the PL at City, sit on the bench at Barca, do whatever it is you lot do at Arsenal.

"When we win the league"

posted on 31/12/11

RVP has been challenging for the league with Arsenal for years and never won it with us, you think he is going to swap London for Manchester to achieve exactly the same thing - nothing?

Why don't you go ahead and say what you are all thinking, the only reason RVP would go to Cíteh is for the monaaaaay

Why's he playing in London rather than back in Holland?

MONEY.

posted on 31/12/11

Ahem, no. He left Holland to join a bigger club and win trophies. The fact that he has won more than Cíteh have in the last 35 years suggests to me that any move to the blue side of Manchester would be a step down

posted on 31/12/11

A step down what exactly? A step down the Premier League in backwards land where Arsenal are 16th, City are 20th and Andy Carroll is a formidable striker?

posted on 31/12/11

Are Arsenal bigger than 4 times CL winners Ajax or former European Champions, Feyenoord?

posted on 31/12/11

To win trophies,
That FA cup and Charity shield in seven years and both those in his first season. No wonder he is stalling on a new contract, he was mislead.

Look, it is rather simple isn't it. In RVP's lifetime he was been alive to see Man City win one FA Cup. At his time alone at Arsenal he has won more than that. Until Cíteh actually start winning some trophies don't bother coming back because it is going to need more than Channel 5 to get his interest

I prefer the term 'groomed' in this instance.

What's so wrong with Channel 5, they had Stand By Me followed by The Gooonies the other day. (as if the proper spelling of that is banned )

posted on 31/12/11

Yea I don't know why the word is banned. Annoying as the word Cíteh being banned.

rvp to man city?

could happen but unlikely, i think rvp will stay. seems to like arsenal and arsenal are back in the top 4. good times.

I would say injuries played a massive part, park and rafa in midfield and all central defenders out. But united didn't play well and were rightly beaten. But united haven't the money and cannot compete with city on that front, but still 2nd so not all bad!

posted on 31/12/11

That starting XI cost about £150m, so don't start mentioning money.

i was there it was nothing to do with the pressure, they were just "carp". Playing midfield players in defence doesnt help but its no excuse. But to be fair we have seen this all before.
What the result does do is take pressure off City and I expect them to win today now.

Looks to me Manu are folding under the pressure of the challenge to the league presented by City.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not sure that this is true - although I hope it is.

Ferguson made the classic mistake of underestimating the opposition and resting Rooney. Even if he had been on the bench and brought on when United equalised I'm sure United would have won the game.

I don't think we can read too much into one result.

One thing we can be sure about is that Ferguson won't make the same mistake again, not for a long time anyway.

I would agree with all of that Blue Mosaics. However those three points alone have tilted the title race massively in City's favour unless they have a blip.

Siempre, we'll know more after the City / Liverpool game on Tuesday. And we'll know even more at the end of the season.

posted on 1/1/12

thats true but I think the injuries are going to finish us off

posted on 1/1/12

Siempre, United have had a string of injuries and still managed to lose only two games and are still second in the Prem.

I think it's a case of expectations. History implies that City shouldn't be top and that United probably should be, but reality is different. Consequently City fans are on a high and United fans on a bit of a low.

The truth is, however, that City and United are equal on points and City (at the moment) only drawing their game in hand. And if there's one thing we know about this game is that just about anything can happen in the next 5 months.
